Asia-Pacific’s leading media intelligence company, iSentia, welcomed the decision today by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to allow Australian Associated Press Pty Limited (AAP) to sell its Australian media monitoring business to iSentia Pty Ltd.
iSentia has agreed to purchase the client relationships and will work with the clients over a ten week integration period.
iSentia CEO John Croll said: “We are excited to welcome AAP’s media monitoring clients to our business and to offer them the product and service benefits provided by Asia-Pacific’s leading media intelligence company.
“We believe the ACCC’s decision is in the best interests of the AAP clients,” he said. “We can now integrate them smoothly and effectively onto a platform such as Mediaportal, which recently won the Codie award in New York for the world’s best Media & Information Monitoring Solution.
“The media intelligence industry is both specialised and complex,” Croll continued. “To be successful it takes a focus on search technologies, services and products. The addition of these new clients will allow us to continue to invest in our services and remain the region’s leading service company in the media intelligence space.
“As a result of this combination, clients will see continual enhancements to the quality and range of the tailored services that we offer,” Mr Croll said.
“There are a lot of exciting projects underway at iSentia with strong growth initiatives in place across the Asia-Pacific region and in the social media and online business intelligence space. We’re thrilled about the addition of social media next month onto our Mediaportal platform, and more immediately, to transitioning AAP monitoring clients across to iSentia services.”
