Specialist hospitality equipment funder Silver Chef has raised the bar for industry innovation with the introduction of a brand new virtual reality platform allowing prospective customers to literally ‘step into’ their future business.
The industry leader’s pioneering virtual reality program enables shoppers to walk into a real life restaurant or café and view a selection of equipment tailored to hospitality start-ups. Set against the backdrop of the real life hustle and bustle of an operating hospitality business, the technology offers a truly authentic experience for those considering their own food or beverage start-up.
Filmed at Che Asado at Brisbane’s South Bank and First Pour in the city’s West End, the videos provide an unprecedented level of interactivity and engagement with the surrounding environment and have helped Silver Chef cement its position as an industry innovator.
Offering potential end-users a new experience when starting their café or restaurant, the platform has helped deliver Silver Chef their most successful trade show yet ,when it was launched at Fine Food Sydney in September last year. In fact, over the past two Fine Food events in Sydney and Brisbane, where Silver Chef has showcased their virtual reality platform, they have achieved a staggering 175 per cent and 358 per cent increase in applications respectively when compared to the company’s previous best result.
Silver Chef’s Senior Marketing Executive, Jamie McCalman, said the virtual reality platform played a crucial role in this success by attracting people who may have normally walked straight by.
“The technology really does help to make finance more interesting by offering an immersive experience to those wanting to start their own hospitality business,” Mr McCalman said.
“In addition to being able to view equipment item rental prices and descriptions, the technology helps make a new restaurant or café feel more tangible and exciting.
“We always knew that the technology would bolster our finance proposition and that’s been proven with almost $600,000 of applications directly attributed to virtual reality”.
With hospitality one of the fastest growing start-up industries in Australia*, industry-leader Silver Chef is committed to educating prospective business owners and turning their business dreams into reality.
“Thrusting them into an actual hospitality environment, and educating them on equipment and everything needed to fit out their own restaurant or café, really is the best way to bring a prospective business to life,” Mr McCalman said.
“We already have many of our hospitality dealers, using the technology in their showrooms and are confident that we’ll have lots more headsets in rotation by the end of the year.
“It’s certainly one of the best investments we’ve ever made, and we’re excited to see the results of our innovation efforts as the year progresses.”
The virtual reality experience is available at selected Silver Chef-accredited hospitality equipment dealers across the country. If you would like to to step into a real life restaurant or café, please visit www.silverchef.com.au for more information.
