The National Utility Locating Contractors Association for Australia (NULCA) has partnered with publishing company Great Southern Press, publisher of the Trenchless Australasia magazine, to produce monthly e-newsletter for members. Under the new partnership, NULCA members will also have the opportunity to promote themselves to the underground asset industry by purchasing a listing in the ‘business cards’ section of the magazine.

Trenchless Australasia is published quarterly. According to its web site it is directly mailed to over 2,900 individuals and has a readership estimated at around 10,000. The magazine is also distributed at various events throughout the year including the ASTT Conference & Exhibition.

Announcing the move, Great Southern Press said: “The new e-newsletter service will … provide NULCA members with the latest in industry news, standards and technologies. The e-newsletter will also showcase member profiles of those in industry, to encourage further networking within the industry.” The first edition of the new newsletter went out in June.

Great Southern Press said the move would enable smaller contractors in the trenchless industry to market themselves to Trenchless Australasia’s “highly targeted” readership of underground professionals including local governments and utilities.

Trenchless Australasia is the official magazine of the Australian Society for Trenchless Technology (ASTT). The society’s president, Steve Apeldoorn, said: “The ASTT sees many benefits in developing close working relationships with other industry associations.

These relationships allow the cross-pollination of ideas and spur on industry innovation. ASTT and NULCA have a lot to gain from building a mutually beneficial relationship.”

He added: “The ASTT Council is always on the lookout for ways to bring more benefits to our members, and working with related industry bodies helps our members create key industry connections that can build their businesses, as well as build themselves professionally.”

Great Southern Press also publishes The Australian Pipeliner, EcoGeneration, PPO (an e-news service for the pipeline and gas industry) and other related titles.”
