AV sector booms at InfoComm Las Vegas

CBT823 AV sector booms at InfoComm Las Vegas

North America’s annual specialist audiovisual exhibition InfoComm 2018, ended its week in Las Vegas with a 10% increase in global attendees. Over 43,000 delegates hit the trade show floors with 964 exhibitors. Representatives hailed from 108 countries, with 20% of participants attending from overseas.

“The engagement of InfoComm attendees in our new and evolving content offerings has been very gratifying. Technology moves so quickly, it’s important to try and think differently and innovate in new ways, namely by focusing on the experiences of AV customers,” said AVIXA (InfoComm exhibition owners) CEO David Labuskes.

Australian IPTV technology specialist CombiTel is a serial attendee of the show and was energised by the acceleration of activity in the sector and increased demand for innovative solutions to keep pace with rapid change.

CombiTel held a number of partner events showcasing its flagship products and services Omniscreen Pilot and Omniscreen Radio streamer.

"Omniscreen Pilot is a complete software solution for IPTV and Digital Signage delivery within a corporate office, campus, hotel, hospital, nursing home and other similar venues. This year we've launched Omniscreen Pilot 6 featuring high availability options and more partner interfaces," explained CombiTel MD Eugene Razbash.

A cornerstone of the exhibition was TIDE (Technology. Innovation. Design. Experience) which drew the largest crowd canvassing ways of applying human-centred design to AV solutions.

CombiTel’s Omniscreen solutions fall squarely into the trend of human centred design. Designed with practical applications in mind, addressing the changing and emerging needs of functional AV interface and layout for health and education applications.

In some of InfoComm show floor highlights:

  • Hologram signage has finally landed: Hypervsn demonstrated logos, images of people and shapes showing off a technology that has long been mooted. Opening the door for applications in advertising as well as entertainment for brands and venues.
  • Spatial Audio Technology from Sony: Spatial audio is the emitted volume reflecting the location of the source. The viewer follows the sound and the image for an immersive sonic experience.

CombiTel will be participating in InfoComm 2019, which is already looking to be bigger with 94 percent of this year’s exhibit space rebooked for next year, a new record. InfoComm 2019 will be held June 8-14, 2019, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
