Hospitality sector hits 5 Star demand for emerging IPTV tech

Sydney will host NoVacancy in July, the accommodation sector’s primary Australian business conference, now its second year.

The conference and exhibition focusses on competitive solutions for the hospitality sector with a myriad of solutions and leading industry advice on how to optimise a property with advanced solutions, enhance guest experiences and maximise profits.

Smart hospitality solutions will take centre stage across the conference discussions and technology advances offer increasing opportunities to provide enhanced guest experience and increase revenue with digital in-room entertainment systems such as HD free-to-guest channels, Interactive TV, IPTV services and Wi-Fi for hotels.

Researchers Frost & Sullivan forecast that advanced IP media devices will grow at 11.2 per cent CAGR in terms of shipments between 2018 and 2025.
“Within tourism and hospitality, smart hotel concepts are raising the bar in terms of the industry escalating to greater heights in terms of meeting customer experience demands and creating whole new levels of experience and functionality that offer guests innovative, luxury in-hotel experiences,” said CombiTel MD Eugene Razbash.

Australian IP solutions provider CombiTel will be showcasing the latest edition of the Omniscreen Pilot IPTV solution at the NoVacancy exhibition which will feature over 4000 attendees.  The solution will be on display at the CombiTel stand #318.

Razbash adds, “the “smart home” has left the bedroom and transitioned to the hotel room. Hotels of from every spectrum are incorporating IPTV and self-service capabilities that ‘smart’ technologies offer to meet the needs of their guests at every point of their stay.”

Huge international hotel groups like Hilton already allow guests to check-in and set their room preferences, from temperature to light setting or mini bar requests before they arrive. Earlier this year, Amazon and Marriott collaborated to develop their own Alexa for the hospitality industry. Guests can use their voice to do anything from order room service to simply switch on the television.

NoVacancy will canvas all the emerging trends with speakers covering ways to incorporate more immersive and interactive technology in order to provide better and more memorable experiences that differentiate themselves from their competitors. 2019 is poised to be a big year for virtual and augmented reality as hotels either find ways to incorporate it.

NoVacancy will be held at the ICC Sydney Exhibition Centre Darling Harbour, Sydney
