The London Benchmarking Group (LBG) this month released its Annual Benchmarking Report for 2011 and has valued Datacom Group’s charitable contributions at over $400,000, a healthy increase of 10% on the 2009/2010 results.
This includes cash donations, through opportunities such as employee payroll matching programs, donations of professional and non-professional time such as team led volunteering days and executive engagement programs, and in-kind donations of custom built applications.
The areas benefiting the most from Datacom’s voluntary contributions being Social Welfare, Health and Education.
This year Datacom saw a 224% increase in its investment in community investment programs through Datacom establishing more of a long term relationship and approach to its charities and charitable activities.
The report also confirmed that Datacom are very giving in terms of donations its time, with Datacom and its people donating twice as much time to volunteering when benchmarked against the other LBG members. As part of the Datacom Corporate Responsibility program, all Datacom employees are entitled to two paid days per year, to participate in charity work.
Datacom’s contributions as a percentage of pre-tax profit is 1.35%, twice that of other LBG members benchmarked by LBG.
At Datacom corporate responsibility is a combination of locally driven activities and group sponsored initiatives. Locally driven initiatives provide the perfect platform for employee engagement opportunities, throughout all levels of the business.
LBG is the international benchmarking model that values company-wide contributions to community including cash, time, in-kind and management costs. It provides a standard approach to quantifying and reporting the value of those contributions. In 2011, LBG Australia and New Zealand measured the charitable contributions of 58 companies.
