Several of SD3's principals, including Chairman and CEO Tom Overholt and Director of Business Development Julie Halverson, first began working together at BALR Corporation, a respected Chicago software and technology consultancy.
Overholt founded BALR in 1978 and the company grew from three technical consultants to more than 120 people before a 1999 purchase by Whittman-Hart. BALR was widely recognized for the rigorous hiring processes, growth-promoting culture and performance-oriented customer service that are also hallmarks of SD3's approach.
