Dubai is riding the growth with the help of mobility. They have planned to boost their transport industry making it automated in the next five years. After mobility playing a key role in last three years, it is expected that mobility is soon going to explore a new domain in transport by making them automated by 2021. Transport app solutions to infotainments kiosks all will have clear footprints of mobility, thus changing the transport landscape in Dubai.
In a recent update in Gulf News, we came to know Dubai is stepping towards rapid c…ansport services. They are planning to make transport services autonomous in a five- year road map giving space for future technologies in this sector.
On February 2017, Roads and Transport Authority announced a new transport strategy from 2017 -2021, which will make sure that Dubai gets 25 percent road trips autonomous by the year 2030.
This will include over 34 projects ranging from autonomous drones to self-driving buses, taxis, and expansion of pedestrian crossings, roadside sales, and infotainment kiosks.
“Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of RTA, takes up to say that this strategy is a part of the future global trends that show world bracing up for more use of transport app solutions, artificial intelligence, robots, automated transport portals, etc.”
Will automated transport business give more space to mobility?
This new five-year strategy in Dubai will see a stiff competition and rise in the number of companies who will look into the web and mobile app development in Dubai, artificial intelligence technologies, manufacturers of drones to several smart transport products making a beeline to Dubai.
Why do we think that amidst the race for smart technologies, mobility is one thing that can win over?
As Dubai is not limiting their transport service improvement to roads only, they are taking things to aerial and marine as well so transport app solution platform is extending. This idea is about looking for the best technologies suitable for a smart city like Dubai.
And in this void space, the transport app solution provider can surely try out their luck.
Behroozian, who is also the head of RTA’s Smart Vehicles Committee, added in the Press Meet that they have not yet confirmed the participants and what will be the structure of the competition. There could be several manufacturers, researchers, university professors, and students.
All of them will contribute to the roadmap and build ground for the future technologies. And all of them will rely on mobility to integrate with their products and services and make things automated with few clicks.
As most of the countries in the world are still in testing mode when it comes to autonomous technology in transport. Nobody is sure when these can be put to practice.
So what Dubai is trying to do is gearing up for the future technologies. Amidst all these such mobile app development companies in Dubai is getting the push.
Since apps are the only smart technology that can merge with any other technology that you like to automate.
His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in 2014 launched 29 projects as a part of the smart city initiative. The smart city envisioned by Shaikh Mohammad is a city focused on the convenience and welfare of its residents, and offers highly efficient services using sophisticated technologies.
And in this crowd smart mobility is the key pillar.
Three years ago Dubai announced 22 projects and during this period they have not only delivered all the projects as promised but also launched seven additional projects that add value to the mobility sector, according to Al Tayer.
Most of the projects have enhanced the mobility experience among Dubai Commuters such as smart bus shelters, taxis with wifi and interactive screens, smart car rentals, mobile based journey planners and taxi mobile solutions. If mobile made all these happen in the last three year, then merging with automated road map is also going to make a mark.
Thus, mobility in the next phase will help to build an integrated platform, work with Tesla electric taxis with autonomous features, or infotainment kiosks.
Dubai is going to see a large explosion in the next five year in terms of mobile app development, transport app solutions, and various other enterprise mobile solutions.
