Lenovo Vibe X3 which was recently released in China set the world on fire. Now with this Vibe X3 Lite, it is set to take the world by storm.
We all know that Lite version normally refers to an el cheapo version of a flagship, but definitely, the Vibe X3 Lite does not fall into this category. Just to recap what the Vibe X3 is all about: a 5.5-inch Full HD with Qualcomm MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset, Hexa-core processor made up of Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 & Dual-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A57, Adreno 418 graphics, 3GB RAM, fingerprint scanner, 21MP-8MP camera, Li-Po 3600 mAh battery with QuickCharge 2.0 (60% in just 30 minutes) and Dolby Atmos and Hi-Fi audio.
All this for an amazing price of $389 USD.
So let’s get started with the Vibe X3 Lite shall we. First up, this smartphone will be shipped in a body of 153.6 x 76.5 x 9 mm (6.05 x 3.01 x 0.35 in) and weighs 160 g (5.64 oz); slightly slimmer and lighter than the Vibe X3.
Although shedding in size a little bit, it will still be sporting a similar 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density, it is what you expect from a decent flagship. The fingerprint sensor is still there to take care of all your biometrics.
As far as performance goes, the Vibe X3 Lite can still be considered a mean machine with its Mediatek MT6753 chipset, Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-T720MP3 graphics and 2GB RAM. It shouldn’t be that far off from the Vibe X3 which has a better Snapdragon 808 chipset, two additional cores, better graphics and 1GB additional RAM.
You won’t be facing any issues running most of the apps and games out there in the market.
Camera-wise, it went down from a 21MP-8MP combination to a rather decent 13 Megapixel primary camera with phase detection autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. As for the secondary camera, there’s the 5 Megapixel camera that should be able to satisfy all your selfie needs.
Regarding storage, if there’s the option of either 32GB or 64GB on the Vibe X3 – now with the Vibe X3 Lite, there’s only 16GB internal storage available. Still it won’t be doing any harm though as you can still add on a maximum of 128GB via the microSD slot.
On the operating side of things, it seems to have the same problem. It is most likely to get stuck at Android Lollipop 5.1 with no update to the latest Marshmallow 6.0.
Don’t put your hopes high on getting it, not via the official way anyway.
As for the battery, the Vibe X3 Lite will be powered by a Li-Po 3300 mAh battery that is very good for its specs. It should not pose any problem to at least power up the device for a day or two in between charging.
Sadly, a thing missing is the Quick Charge solution.
Another thing that is worth mentioning is that it will have the standard 4G LTE and dual sim feature that most other smartphone has. Similarly, the Vibe X3 Lite will have Dolby Atmos and Hi-Fi audio, which will be providing you with the best in the listening experience.
Surely by now you can draw a conclusion that the Lenovo Vibe X3 Lite is something that you should not be taking too lightly. It isn’t far off from the flagship to be honest.
Sure, it has reduced specs here and there; but overall it is still a decent device. Now the only thing that we are unclear is on the pricing part.
Hope it will be around $200-$250 USD mark, and it will surely be a very big hit.
The Lenovo Vibe X3 Lite is expected to be released very soon, and it will only be available in black.
