We had earlier taken a look at iPhone 7  and liked it a lot – except for its hefty price. But it’s a known fact that if you were complaining about its price, then you are not Apple’s target market in the first place.

So here’s a quick recap at iPhone 7:

  • iOS 10.0.1
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 2900 mAh battery

There’s not much difference between the two, but it seems that for an additional $120 USD – you will be getting a larger screen, better camera and a larger battery. Which in general, justifies its higher price for having a couple of improvements.

Talking about improvements, iPhone 7 Plus brings with it a host of new stuff that you should be looking forward to versus iPhone 6 Plus. First up is the IP67 certification which makes the enclosure splash and water resistant. This means you can bring it on your water adventure, or walk through rain without having to worry about it getting damaged. You are now getting protection from spills, splashes and even dust.

From the aspect of design, iPhone 7 Plus is crafted from bead-blasted aluminium, with the new black model having a rich, deep matt finish; while the high-gloss jet black finish was achieved through a new feat of design engineering — a remarkably precise, ninestep process of anodization and polishing. The end result is so purely and continuously black, you can’t tell where the aluminium ends and the glass begins.

The Home button on iPhone 7 Plus features an advanced solid-state button designed to be durable, responsive and pressure sensitive. Working in tandem with the new Taptic Engine, it gives you precise tactile feedback as you press and it is even customizable.

As for the fingerprint sensor, it is the fastest and most advanced sensor out there with Touch ID making the process of unlocking your iPhone easy and secure.

Display-wise, iPhone 7 Plus features a new, wide colour display gamut. Retina display can deliver cinemastandard colours — and the best colour management in the smartphone industry. More shades of the colour spectrum can be used to create an image, meaning that what you see on the screen is a truer representation of the world.

Next, there’s 3D Touch, where your iPhone responds with subtle taps. You will not only be able to see what a press can do — you will also feel it. The new Retina display on iPhone 7 Plus deeply integrates 3D Touch throughout iOS. Now you can interact with Messages, Calendar, Mail and other apps in a more powerful and more responsive way.

If iPhone 6 already has a great camera and features one of the best camera phones in the market, wait until you get your hands on the iPhone 7 Plus. With optical image stabilization, phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, quad-LED (dual tone) flash, geo-tagging, simultaneous 4K video and 8MP image recording, touch focus, face/smile detection and HDR (photo/panorama); you expect the camera will blow anything away as you get to take breathtaking shots.

And if you love taking selfies, then you will love what the iPhone 7 Plus can do. The brand new 7MP selfie camera comes with FaceTime HD camera that is not only in a higher resolution, but also uses wide colour capture. The Retina Flash matches the ambient light for a shot with naturallooking skin tones.

iPhone 7 Plus ships with the world’s most advanced mobile operating system – iOS 10. The interface is beautiful and easy to use. Intelligent suggestions appear just when you need them. And advanced technologies protect your privacy and security. Because iOS is engineered specifically for iPhone and iPad, everything looks and feels incredibly fluid. iOS uses a framework called Metal to maximise graphics performance so that you won’t feel any lag. Whether you are surfing the web, moving from an app to another app or playing the most complex 3D video game, the graphics and responsiveness are amazingly smooth. No other mobile operating system is so effortless and natural.

It also comes with a selection of core Apple-designed apps that you will definitely use every day, like Photos, Maps, Messages, Health and more. Each of these apps is engineered with incredible attention to detail. So, for example, when you send a message, you can express yourself in more ways than ever. Our apps also work with other apps, so you can book a table at a restaurant and a ride to get you there — without ever leaving Maps.

There has been a controversy surrounding iPhone 7 Plus with the smartphone ditching its smartphone jack from the design. That’s because Apple will start introducing AirPods in October that is deemed to be wireless, effortless and magical. Just take them out and they are ready to use with all your devices. Put them in your ears and they connect instantly. Speak into them and your voice sounds crystal clear.

Conclusion:

They say fanboyism is strong with Apple but with something as great as iPhone 7 Plus, then the trend is set to continue growing. Even as we speak, pre-orders have been over the roof and there’s a lot of reasons for it. It might be on the pricey side of things, but if you are among those who complaints about its price; then you are not the target market for Apple. Plain and simple.

Apple iPhone 7 Plus had just been released and is currently available for $769 USD for the 32GB model, $869 USD for the 128GB model and $969 USD for the 256GB model. You can choose from the traditional colours of Space Gray, Silver and Gold; as well as two new colours – Black (with matte finish) and Jet Black (deep & high-gloss).
