For those of you who have bought OnePlus 3, here comes One Plus 3T that is set to give you an upgrade experience. Let’s see what $80 USD more can give you, and whether it will be value for money.

Back in June 2016, OnePlus 3 was released to a huge reception. Although the company has since dropped the flagship killer tag, there’s every reason to feel good about it.

Let’s refresh our mind a little bit and take a look at what the OnePlus 3 is all about:

  • 5.5-inch LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Gorilla Glass 4 protection
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Metal body
  • Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, Quad-core processor made up of Dual-core 2.15 GHz Kryo & dual-core 1.6 GHz Kryo, Adreno 530 graphics and 6GB RAM
  • 64GB internal storage with no microSD expansion
  • 16MP primary camera with f/2.0, phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash
  • 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0, 1/3.2" sensor size and 1.4 µm pixel size
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery with Fast battery charging: 60% in 30minutes with Dash Charge)
  • Oxygen OS based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • June 2016 release date
  • $399 USD price tag

One of the latest improvements back then is that OnePlus 3 now comes equipped with a metal unibody that is carved from a single slab of premium aluminium; resulting in an ultra-thin design with a satisfying, solid build.

Thanks to the superior 16MP sensor on its primary camera, pictures and videos taken on the OnePlus 3 exude incredible detail and clarity. The exclusive Smart Capture technology makes taking the perfect photo easier and more worry-free than ever before. Electronic (EIS) and optical (OIS) stabilization technologies work in harmony to ensure that pictures and videos are crisp and smooth, while a robust manual model and RAW image support are sure to satisfy even the most discerning photography enthusiast.

One last thing that you will like about OnePlus 3 is the OxygenOS that is based on the latest Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. It was created with a simple goal: to find perfect the balance between power and simplicity. If you like your OS clean, comfortable, and easy to use right out of the box, then this is for you. If you prefer to tinker, OxygenOS also includes an array of robust power features where it allows for all sorts of customization.

Now that we know how superior One Plus 3 is, has it aged well after this while – 5 months to be exact.

Here’s to a closer look at One Plus 3T as per below:

  • 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Metal body
  • Gorilla Glass 4 protection
  • Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 chipset, Quad-core (2x2.35 GHz Kryo & 2x1.6 GHz Kryo) processor, Adreno 530 and 6GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/1.7 aperture, phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash
  • 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1/3.2" sensor size, 1.4 µm pixel size
  • 64GB / 128GB internal storage + no expansion slot
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3300 mAh battery + Fast battery charging: 60% in 30 minutes (Dash Charge)
  • Oxygen OS based on Android Nougat 7.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • 14th November launch, December expected release date
  • $479 USD price tag

From the looks of it, there're not many changes to the original version. The few upgrades that you can expect is in the form of a better screen (Optic AMOLED), the best chipset which is Snapdragon 821 and the fastest processor, 10% more battery capacity and the latest Android Nougat 7.0 right out of the box.

All these should put One Plus 3T back in the top of the pile and presents a strong challenge to others in the high-end market. The promise of a plain vanilla OS coupled with the best hardware around, should make for a really promising performance.

With the launch event on November 14th just one more week away, you can’t help yourself but feel very excited at the prospect that OnePlus 3T will arrive just before the Christmas holidays. It should be a perfect gift either for yourself or your loved ones. You will definitely fall in love with its performance, camera, OS and its price tag as well.

OnePlus 3T is expected to be released in December 2016 and will be available for $479 USD. You can choose from Black, Graphite and Soft Gold color.
