We have to say thanks to the Chinese manufacturer for bringing such affordable devices to our shores. With very little money, you will be getting so much more in terms of specs and overall value.

The M5 Note has a smaller sibling called the M5 and is another great smartphone. We earlier took a look at the M5, here it is again to refresh your memory:

  • 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels or ~282 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6750 chipset, Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-T860MP2 graphics and 2GB/3GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB internal storage + microSD slot up to 256GB maximum
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture
  • Non-removable 3070 mAh battery
  • Android Lollipop 5.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • November 2016 release date

We are definitely surprised by how great the M5 is all about. It looks really beautiful, comes with 2.5D curved glass, fingerprint sensor and has a 13MP-5MP camera setup.

But what about the M5 Note then? Here’s the lowdown on the smartphone:

  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset, Octa-core (4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.0 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-T860MP2 graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 256GB
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture
  • Non-removable 4000 mAh battery
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • November 2016 release date
  • $129 USD for 16GB storage + 3GB RAM, $145 USD for 32GB storage + 3GB RAM and $219 USD for 64GB storage + 4GB RAM

If you insist on getting the lowest spec version which is $30 USD more than the M5, you will be getting an upgrade in terms of a bigger screen with LTPS technology, better all-round performance with a better chipset, faster processor and larger RAM, more storage, bigger battery capacity and Marshmallow 6.0 OS.

These few improvements and updates are definitely worth much more than the price, and if you have a slightly more budget – why not get the better version of the M5 Note ? It will have the 2.5D curved glass, fingerprint sensor and 13MP-5MP camera combination.
