Huawei Enjoy 6s might be slightly expensive than others, but it packs a punch for a mid-range smartphone.

The previous Enjoy 5s was released just a year ago, and it is about time for a successor to come into the picture. Let’s rewind the clock a bit to take a closer look at it:

  • 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels or ~294 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6753T chipset, Octa-core 1.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-T720MP3 graphics and 2GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, autofocus, LED flash
  • 5MP secondary camera
  • 16GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 2200 mAh battery
  • Android Lollipop 5.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • December 2015 release date
  • $189 USD price tag

When it was released in December last year, Enjoy 5s was getting rave reviews especially for those who don’t want a large screen smartphone. With the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor, good hardware, good camera, decent storage and decent price tag makes for a good device. Only if you can overlook its High Definition resolution and lowly battery capacity.

Fast forward to today, we are ready to meet Enjoy 6s. Will it be breaking any new grounds? Well, let’s find out:

  • 5-inch HD AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels or ~294 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 chipset, Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 505 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, autofocus and LED flash
  • 5MP secondary camera
  • Non-removable Li-Po 3020 mAh battery
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • December 2016 release date
  • ~$229 USD price tag

With an increase of $40 USD to the price tag, Enjoy 6s offers an upgraded AMOLED technology to its screen, an improved hardware in terms of a better chipset, better graphics, an additional 1GB RAM, updated Marshmallow 6.0 OS plus a much larger battery capacity to boot.

You'll have to be appeased with its 5-inch screen with only a High Definition resolution. In terms of camera, there’s not much difference between its predecessor as well.

Conclusion:

Huawei Enjoy 6s is something of a mixed bag for now. Expected to be released this month, it comes with an increase in price. It does so by fitting in some upgrades and updates into the smartphone, but can the additional price be justified? It doesn’t seem that way though.

Huawei Enjoy 6s is expected to be released in December 2016 for $1,599 Chinese Yuan or ~$229 USD. It will be available in White, Gold and Silver colour.
