With that out of the way, what can we expect of the M3x then? Here are the specs for the smartphone:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~403 ppi pixel density
  • Metal body
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6757 Helio P20 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.6 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-T880MP2 graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM
  • 32GB/64GB internal storage + microSD slot up to 256GB maximum
  • 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX386 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash

  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • December 2016 release date
  • $249 USD price tag for 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and $289 USD for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage

Immediately you can see that the M3x gets an upgrade in terms of its hardware with a better Helio P20 chipset, faster octa-core processor, better graphics and an option of an additional 1GB RAM.

Few other notable enhancements are where there’s also an option to double the amount of storage to 64GB. In terms of battery, there’s a slight increase in battery capacity with its 3200 mAh battery.

Last but not least, the most important of all is the availability of Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS right out of the box. You should know that there’s a very slim chance of it getting future updates, so to kick things off with it is really good indeed.
