With the selfie craze showing no signs of slowing down, Oppo is right in coming out with the A57. But is the selfie camera the only thing about it?

Apparently no, as you can see with the rest of the A57 specs as per below:

  • 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels or ~282 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 chipset, Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 505 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • 16MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12 µm pixel size
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 2900 mAh battery
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • December 2016 release date
  • ~$229 USD price tag

You can safely say that the A57 is good enough for a mid-range smartphone. It is sporting a 5.2-inch IPS screen but is let down by its High Definition resolution. There’s the fingerprint sensor for security and unlocking.

Under the hood of the A57 is a mid-range performance hardware with a combination of Snapdragon 435, decent octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. It should be capable enough for your daily dose of social media after taking those selfies.

It is in the camera department where the A57 shines the brightest. The 13MP primary camera is good with its features and functions, but its 16MP selfie camera is its strongest part of all. You can be sure of taking only the best selfies out there.

After taking lots of photos, the next area of concern would be in its storage capacity. There should be more than enough with its 32GB internal storage, but you can also further expand it up to a maximum 256GB should you need to.

Conclusion:

If you are on the selfie craze bandwagon, you would definitely want the best selfie camera out of your smartphone. But that’s not all about Oppo A57 though, as you can find other specs that make for a good mid-range smartphone.

Oppo A57 is currently available for $1,599 Chinese Yuan or ~$229 USD. It is available in Gold and Rose Gold colour.
