With the selfie craze showing no signs of slowing down and on a constant rise, Oppo comes along with the recent release of A57. With an amazing 16MP selfie camera, is that everything there is about this smartphone?

The answer is no, as you can see the rest of the A57 specs as per below:

  • 5.2-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels or ~282 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 chipset, Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 505 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • 16MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.12 µm pixel size
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 2900 mAh battery
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • December 2016 release date
  • ~$229 USD price tag

You can safely say that the A57 is good enough for a mid-range smartphone. Sporting a 5.2-inch IPS screen, it is slightly let down by its High Definition resolution.

Regarding performance, the A57 is being powered by the Snapdragon 435 chipset, decent octa-core processor and 3GB RAM. Should be more than capable enough for your daily dose of social media after taking those selfies.

Camera-wise, this is where the A57 shines the brightest. The 13MP primary camera is good with its features and functions, but its 16MP selfie camera is its strongest part of all. It is rare that you can find a secondary camera that is higher than the primary camera. That’s where you can be sure of taking only the best selfies out there.

With the selfie smartphone stamping its authority, what about the M3x then? It totally forgotten about its selfie camera, but is strong on almost everything else.

The first thing that you will notice about the M3x is how beautiful it is. With a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, the metal body and 2.5D curved glass make for an exquisite look. You will love how it feels in your hands.

But what is beauty without brains right? This is also another department that the M3x puts its emphasis on. With the Helio P20 chipset, fast octa-core processor and 3GB RAM – it combines well to give you a good performance out of it.

As mentioned earlier, if you are looking for some great camera action; you won’t find it on the M3x. It is only equipped with a 12MP-5MP camera setup, which is still good enough for your daily use.

Battery-wise, the 3200 mAh battery that also comes with fast charging is something convenient. You can probably power up the device for at least a day or two in between charging. And even when it is time to plug it in, it won’t take long to have it fully charged.
