Gionee P7 was just released this month, and with a price of $149 USD, it seems a little expensive for the specs it dishes out.
Gionee has been in the market for some time now, and the P7 was supposed to be an entry-level smartphone for the emerging market.
Let’s then check out its full specs as per below:
- 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1280 pixels or ~294 ppi pixel density
- Soda Lime protection
- Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor and 2GB RAM
- 8MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash
- 5MP secondary camera
- 16GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
- Li-Ion 2300 mAh battery
- Amigo 3.2 OS based on Android Marshmallow 6.0
- Dual-sim and 4G LTE
- December 2016 release date
- $149 USD price tag
As you can see from above, P7 is indeed a very basic smartphone with very little things to shout about. It is sporting a 5-inch HD screen with no fingerprint sensor or metal body to be proud of. It has a transparent & glossy texture that makes this smartphone a beautiful style symbol. It also comes with a smooth body that provides a comfortable grip.
In terms of hardware, the P7 is powered by a slow quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. It might be able to run most of your social apps but only a little bit of multi-tasking. Don’t think it will do much gaming with this smartphone.
Camera-wise, there’s only an 8MP primary camera with limited features available. Then there’s the 5MP selfie camera which is your average run-of-the-mill camera.
In terms of storage, you can find the P7 having 16GB internal storage available. Surely that won’t be enough, but you can easily expand it up to 256GB via the microSD slot.
As for the battery, there’s a rather limited 2300 mAh battery that should still be able to power up the smartphone for at least a day if you are not a heavy user.
Well, at least the P7 is running on Amigo 3.2, which beautifully complements your Android Marshmallow 6.0 experience. From funky themes & mood wallpapers to app managers & interesting lock screens, Amigo will ensure you have a great time on the smartphone.
With a price like that, Gionee P7 looks like it would be struggling to make an impact on the market. All it does is offer us with rather basic features and functions. A 5-inch HD screen, slow quad-core processor, average 8MP-5MP camera and just 2300 mAh battery supplying juice to the smartphone. Surely there’s a whole lot of other choices that you can explore.
Gionee P7 had just been released for $9,999 Chinese Yuan or ~$149 USD. You can choose from White, Latte Gold or Grаy colour.
