It seems like more and more manufacturers are jumping on the bandwagon to provide a smartphone which features a dual-camera as their main selling proposition. ZTE didn’t waste any time to come out with Blade V8 Pro, as it showcased the smartphone for the first time during CES 2017 event last week.

To know more about what it has to offer, check out the below specs:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Metal body with rubber back
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • Dual 13MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash
  • 8MP selfie camera
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Dolby audio
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3140 mAh battery with Fast battery charging
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • Expected February 2017 release date
  • $229 USD price tag

As you can tell from the above, Blade V8 Pro is a mid-range smartphone but packs quite a heavy punch. Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, it then marries a metal body with a rubber back. This means that you will be getting the exquisite and solid finish of metal, and the firm grip of a rubbery back. The result is a smartphone that feels great in the palm of your hand.

Then there’s the fingerprint sensor to help you with unlocking the device and other biometric purposes. It allows you to control who sees your photos, apps and private information with the responsive fingerprint sensor, engineered to recognise multiple user profiles. And to help you in case of mishaps, it comes equipped with the Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood of the Blade V8 Pro is the mid-range Snapdragon 625 chipset, a fast octa-core processor, decent graphics and 3GB RAM. This should provide for some solid performance that can easily run most apps and games without any hiccups.

Now comes the best part of Blade V8 Pro which is on its camera. Here you can find a dual-13MP primary camera. It supports blazing fast shutter speeds and delivers an exceptional depth of field, giving you the power to add beautiful bokeh effects to your photos. There’s also an ability for you to choose between 7 levels of brightness via the dual LED flash. You can also adjust focus and aperture before or after you shoot. Once done, you can then use the built-in sophisticated image editing software to give your photos a perfect look.

Storage-wise, there’s 32GB of internal storage which can then be further expanded up to a maximum of 256GB. No worries over here.

Blade V8 Pro's long lasting 3140 mAh battery ensures that there’s enough juice to keep it up and running for the whole day. And with Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0, recharging your battery takes a fraction of the time it used to.

Another additional bonus for all audio lovers is that you can enjoy booming audio playback with Dolby® Audio support and a dedicated HiFi audio chipset.

Conclusion:

ZTE Blade V8 Pro seems like your average mid-range smartphone. But once you realise that it packs a dual-13MP primary camera, then everything else changes. Not forgetting its affordable price tag, which makes it even more attractive. Pre-orders had just started, but the response has been overwhelming so far. Can’t wait for February for its debut to take place.

ZTE Blade V8 Pro is expected to be available in February 2016 for approximately $229 USD and is only available in black colour.
