ZTE is kind of new to the dual camera bandwagon, having just showcased the Blade V8 Pro in the recent CES 2017 exhibition.

It got a tremendous reception from the crowd, and here’s exactly why:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Metal body with rubber back
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • Dual 13MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash
  • 8MP secondary camera
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Dolby audio
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3140 mAh battery with Fast battery charging
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • Expected February 2017 release date
  • $229 USD price tag

As you can see from the above, the Blade V8 Pro is a mid-range smartphone that packs quite a heavy punch. Sporting a 5.5-inch Full HD screen, it then marries a metal body with a rubbery back. It might be a little bit awkward, but in doing so, you get the best of both worlds – a solid metal finish and a firm grip of the rubber back. Then there’s also Gorilla Glass 3 protection that comes in handy when in need.

Now let’s take a peek at under the hood of the Blade V8 Pro, and we can find the Snapdragon 625 chipset, a fast octa-core processor, decent graphics and 3GB RAM. This should provide for some solid mid-range performance that can easily run most apps and games without any hiccups.

Camera-wise, the Blade V8 Pro is equipped with a great dual-13MP primary camera. It supports blazing fast shutter speeds and delivers an exceptional depth of field, giving you the power to add beautiful bokeh effects to your photos. There’s also an ability for you to choose between 7 levels of brightness via the dual LED flash. You can also adjust focus and aperture before or after you shoot. Once done, you can then use the built-in sophisticated image editing software to give your photos a perfect look. Then there’s the 8MP selfie camera which you can take good selfies out of it.

As for storage, there’s 32GB of internal storage which can then be further expanded up to a maximum of 256GB. No worries for you to store lots of photos and videos.

Blade V8 Pro comes equipped with a 3140 mAh battery that ensures you have enough juice to keep it up and running for the whole day. And with Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 2.0, recharging your battery takes a fraction of the time it used to.

Another plus point all audio lovers out there is that you can enjoy booming audio playback with Dolby® Audio support and a dedicated HiFi audio chipset. Be prepared to be mesmerised with its high-quality sound which sets itself apart from others.

With an almost similar specs, LeEco Cool1 Dual also sports a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen. There’s also a fingerprint sensor for all your biometric needs.

In terms of performance, LeEco Cool1 Dual should perform better with its Snapdragon 652 chipset, an octa-core processor, good graphics and 4GB RAM. Even though it still falls in the mid-range level, there’s nothing that it can run smoothly with this kind of combination.

Similarly, LeEco Cool1 Dual’s highlight of the show is on its dual-13MP primary camera. This means you can now shoot great photos in all its full glory, and sometimes rivalling those of a dedicated digital camera. There’s no point of getting yourself one, as a smartphone can do the job as well – if not better. It also comes with an 8MP secondary camera.

Storage-wise, it could prove to be a slight inconvenience though as it doesn’t have an expansion slot. But still, there’s 64GB of internal storage which should allow for lots of apps, games, photos and videos to be stored on it.

Finally, LeEco Cool1 Dual is powered by a large 4060 mAh battery which should be able to supply enough juice for a day or two. Even when it is time to plug it in, the fast battery charging feature ensures that you can get it up to 50% in just 30 minutes.

LeEco Cool1 Dual is almost similar, especially on its 5.5-inch Full HD screen, metal body, fingerprint sensor and dual-13MP primary camera. But what sets it apart is its great hardware, large 64GB internal storage and a huge 4060 mAh battery to boot.
