Let’s take a look back at the Blade V8 Pro, before we understand where the Blade V8 comes from:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Metal body with rubber back
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • Dual 13MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash
  • 8MP selfie camera
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Dolby audio

As you can tell from the above, Blade V8 Pro is a mid-range smartphone but packs quite a heavy punch. A metal body with rubber back for a firmer grip, good Snapdragon 625 chipset with 3GB RAM, dual-13MP primary camera are just some of features that make for a value-for-money device.

Without further ado, let’s turn our attention towards the Blade V8 as per below specs:

With Blade V8, you can see a lot of differences with its bigger sibling. For starters, this smartphone now sports a 5.2-inch Full HD screen which is marginally smaller.

When it comes to what’s under the hood of the Blade V8, here we can find a lesser Snapdragon 435 chipset, a slower octa-core processor, weaker graphics but an option to go with either 2GB or 3GB RAM.

Camera-wise, the Blade V8 will still be equipped with a dual camera, but this time around it has a 13MP-2MP dual-camera setup.

Although not as high-res, but still a capable shooter on its own. What surprises us even more, is that it will have a 13MP selfie camera. This means you get to capture great selfies in its highest details.

As for the battery, the Blade V8 is said to be powered by a 2730 mAh battery. You should be able to get at least a day’s worth of battery life, unless you are a very heavy user.

Finally, the Blade V8 will spring a surprise by getting the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS right out of the box. The latest software should be able to speed things up a little bit, and you will get all the latest features, functions and optimisations that come along.

ZTE Blade V8 is set to be the affordable alternative to its bigger brother, the Blade V8 Pro. The dual-primary camera will be the highlight of the show, and with a decent hardware and the latest software to boot; it is set to be a best-seller among those looking to have a great camera phone without breaking the bank.

ZTE Blade V8 is expected to be available in February 2016 and it should be available for less than $229 USD that its bigger brother is being priced at. It is said to be available in a variety of colours from Rose Gold, Silver, Dark Grey and Champagne Gold that you can choose from.
