It was only a leak of a photo, and it had already started an internet frenzy over the Redmi Pro 2. If you just take a look at the below leaked specs, you will know why everyone will go nuts over it:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Metal body
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and 6GB RAM
  • 128GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 256GB
  • 12MP primary camera with Sony IMX362 sensor, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 4500 mAh battery
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • Expected March 2017 release date
  •  $259 USD price tag

It might still be early days, but Redmi Pro 2 has all the DNA to be successful. Starting with the 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS AMOLED screen, you should be able to enjoy great visual experience. Next, we have the 2.5D curved glass which further heightens the experience and provide a solid grip on its metal body. The fingerprint sensor is available as the standard these days.

As for the performance, the Redmi Pro 2 will have the best of the mid-range with the upcoming Snapdragon 660 chipset and a whopping 6GB RAM. It should be very powerful indeed.

Same can be said about its camera, as the Redmi Pro 2 is set to be equipped with a 12MP primary camera that is powered by Sony IMX362 sensor. You should be able to take great photos from it.

Battery-wise, there shouldn’t be any problems with the prospect of it having a 4500 mAh battery. There’s enough juice for a day’s usage, sometimes even up to two days.

If there’s one thing we wish for since it will be at least another month before its release, is for the Redmi Pro 2 to get the update to the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS. If it does, then it will be great news indeed.
