At first glance, there’s practically no difference between Xperia XZs and the Xperia XZ – apart from the camera capabilities. Well, that’s good to know because whenever a smartphone comes with a ‘s’ version, you would have thought that it has inferior specs in so many places. Not with Xperia XZs, you won’t.

There’s the 5.2-inch Full HD IPS screen wrapped in a metal body that lends its great looks. You will love how well it will grip in your hands. All this, is further protected with a Gorilla Glass and ultimately the IP68 certification which keeps it safe from dust and water.

Performance-wise, it shares the same DNA with the Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with a speedy Quad-core Kryo processor, great graphics and 4GB RAM. There’s nothing that the Xperia XZs can’t run strongly enough.

The highlight of the show for the Xperia XZs is definitely on the camera. It has one of the most advanced smartphone innovation yet – the new Motion Eye™ camera. Based on know-how from the renowned Cyber-Shot™ cameras, it captures movement the human eye can’t normally see, with astonishing precision and detail. Magic moments happen in the blink of an eye, so Sony built a smartphone camera that can capture them all. The Motion Eye™ camera has a memory stacked sensor and records 960 frames per second, for Super slow motion video that reveals what you would otherwise miss.

The Motion Eye™ camera features ground-breaking technology: Predictive Capture. It senses movement in front of you and starts to buffer images while you’re preparing to shoot. Say for example if you clicked too late, just go back in time and choose from up to four photos taken before you pressed the camera button.

The 19MP Exmor™ RS sensor captures more light, so images are clear and detailed, even when you zoom in. With bigger pixel size, the Xperia XZs captures more detail and light in every picture. The intelligent exposure control adjusts to the light levels around you, so photos taken at night are still exceptionally clear and vivid. When you’re photographing a fast-moving object, it can sometimes come out looking misshapen or warped. To overcome this problem, the smartphone has fast anti-distortion shutter that captures your subject perfectly.

Now that’s what an amazing camera smartphone that the Xperia XZs promised to become. As far as storage is concerned, here we have two options available: you can choose from either 32GB or 64GB. Both versions have a microSD expansion slot, which you can easily expand up to 256GB.

Even though it is only equipped with a 2900 mAh battery, but there’s something smart about the battery it seems. The Xperia XZs is like a great friend that knows you well. It learns and adapts to your preferences every day, making your life that little bit easier. Smart Stamina accurately learns how you use power throughout the day, and will let you know if you’re going to run low. It will even optimise your charging to make sure your battery doesn’t run out before the end of the day.

Then we have Xperia Actions that pays attention to the little things you do, like turning on silent mode when needed. It then starts adjusting its settings automatically, so you always get an easy and convenient experience from your phone.

This is all made possible with the inclusion of the latest Android Nougat 7.0 OS. That’s also one clear advantage that the Xperia XZs has.

Conclusion:

What are your thoughts about Sony Xperia XZs? For us, the camera that it has is something extraordinary, and it taps on all the experience from Sony’s Cyber Shot range of digital cameras. To have all those powerful features on an already powerful smartphone with good looks, and dust-proof and waterproof: now that’s something you don’t normally find these days.

Sony Xperia XZs is expected to be released on 5th April 2017 although there’s no official statement yet on the pricing. It will be available in Black, Warm Silver and Ice Blue.
