Meizu M6 Note: stay true to this 5.5-inch metal smartphone with curved glass – for just $239

Meizu M6 Note is set for an August 23rd launch date, and there might be a surprise or two waiting in store for us.

9 months after the release of its predecessor – the M5 Note, the timing couldn’t be sooner. Let’s refresh our memory to last year’s model as per below:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~403 ppi pixel density
  • 2.5D curved glass
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset, Octa-core (4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.0 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-T860MP2 graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM
  • 16GB/32GB/64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 256GB
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • 5MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture
  • Non-removable 4000 mAh battery
  • Android Marshmallow 6.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • November 2016 release date
  • $129 USD for 16GB storage + 3GB RAM, $145 USD for 32GB storage + 3GB RAM and $219 USD for 64GB storage + 4GB RAM

As you can see, even for those who opted for the cheapest variant are greatly rewarded. The amount of value that you are getting for just $129 are simply amazing. Great 5.5-inch LTPS IPS screen, 2.5D curved glass, mid-range hardware, 13MP-5MP camera setup and a 4000 mAh battery. Of course, if you are able to spend more; then can get yourself the 64GB storage with 4GB RAM.

Good stuff come to those who wait, will that be the case for users who have been holding on before they upgrade?

Here’s what will be in store for you with Meizu M6 Note:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~403 ppi pixel density
  • Metal body
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6757T Helio P25 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.6 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.6 GHz Cortex-A35) processor, Mali-T880MP2 graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • 8MP secondary camera
  • 32GB/64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 256GB
  • Android Nougat 7.1
  • Non-removable 4000 mAh battery
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • August 23rd 2017 launch date
  • $1,599 Chinese Yuan or ~$239 USD estimated price tag

With a similar 5.5-inch Full HD LTPS IPS screen, this is already considered to be a premium for this price. Surely it can’t have a Quad HD resolution, right? Then there’s the metal body to provide great look and feel and fingerprint sensor as well.

Perhaps the biggest upgrade for the M6 Note will be under its hood. Expected to be equipped with a better chipset, faster processor and better graphics – you can be sure of much greater performance out of it.

In terms of camera, the 13MP primary camera will make a return. Could it be that the surprise is a dual primary camera waiting for us on its launch date? There’s a big rumor saying so. Then there will be an upgraded 8MP selfie camera to let you have more fun taking selfies.

Storage-wise, you can choose either to settle for 32GB or 64GB of internal storage. Whichever way you choose to go, there’s the expansion slot which you can add up to 256GB of additional space quite easily.

The 4000 mAh battery is expected to make a return as well, which should allow it to easily power up the M6 Note for a full day.

Last but not least, the latest Android Nougat 7.1 operating system will be available right out of the box. That’s a great piece of news indeed.

Even though there won’t be a cheaper option for Meizu M6 Note, the amount of value that you will be getting is exceptionally great. For those who have existing devices and waiting for an upgrade, now is the time to do so. But still, we may have to wait until the launch event to know what is the surprise that they have been talking about. The choice of colors are Gray, Silver, Gold or Blue.
