Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL had just been released and here are our thoughts on it. For starters, there’s not much difference between last year and this year’s model; but the changes done was necessary to stay in touch with the current crowd.

Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL still sports the same 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen with metal body and fingerprint sensor to boot. But in this latest edition, it gets the Gorilla Glass protection that is extremely valuable.

Sad to say that, the performance aspect for Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL remains the same. The similar Snapdragon 430 chipset, a decently fast octa-core processor, decent graphics and 4GB RAM is found under the hood of this smartphone.

Camera-wise, it now gets the dual 13MP primary camera treatment which is great news. You will enjoy snapping away at pictures, as the photos will look incredible. Go ahead and try the bokeh effect for more satisfaction. Then you can proudly take good selfies with the 8MP selfie camera that comes with LED flash. Don’t worry about taking photos in the dark, as both cameras are perfectly suited for it.

In terms of storage, there’s now an option to go for 64GB of internal storage which is nice. Even then, you can add an additional 256GB maximum via the expansion slot.

As for the software side of things, Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL is having the latest Android Nougat 7.0 operating system running right out of the box. But whether it will get the update to Android Oreo 8.0 sometime in the future, remains to be seen.

Last but not least, Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL gets another upgrade regarding battery capacity. It now sports a huge 5000 mAh battery that is sure to provide more than enough juice for two days of battery life.

Conclusion:

Asus Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL might not be the upgrade that you are looking for. There’s a few hit and misses, but still packs a punch anyway. The dual 13MP primary camera and huge 5000 mAh battery capacity are its strongest points, as well as its lower launch price.

Asus Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL had just been released for $USD 239. You get to choose from Titanium Gray, Rose Pink or Sand Gold color.
