  • Gorilla Glass 5 protection
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6757 Helio P20 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.3 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.6 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-T880MP2 graphics and 3GB/4GB RAM

  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3430 mAh battery

  • October 2017 expected release date

With one more month to go before its release, Xperia XA1 Plus has all the characteristics to take it higher. Starting with a large 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen, there’s also Gorilla Glass 5 protection and fingerprint sensor as its mainstay.

The Xperia XA1 Plus is said to be carrying the same DNA as the Xperia XA1, with the Helio P20 chipset, a fast octa-core processor, good graphics and an option to go for either 3GB or 4GB RAM. This should bring about a comfortable mid-range performance from the smartphone.

Camera-wise, an almost similar 23MP-8MP camera combination will still be there. This time around, Xperia XA1 Plus lets you master romantic low-light shots with a bright F2.0 lens and large 1/2.3” Exmor RS™ for mobile sensor. You can now capture clear, smooth videos even when you’re on the move with SteadyShot™. With the Quick Launch and Capture feature, it lets you take sharp pictures of objects in motion with a fast 0.6-second camera launch and autofocus.

Regarding storage, there’s the right amount of 32GB internal storage available. Should you need more space, just pop in a microSD card and you are all set to go up to a maximum of 256GB.

Moving on to its software, the latest Android Nougat 7.0 will be available. That’s not all, Xperia XA1 Plus is said to be upgradeable to the upcoming Android Oreo 8.0 operating system once it is available. This is great news, as it gives more mileage to the smartphone and can last you longer.

Finally, a 3430 mAh battery will be available that should have no trouble powering up the smartphone for at least a full day of charge. This high capacity battery with Stamina mode will give you all day entertainment. It stays stronger for longer thanks to Battery Care and Qnovo Adaptive Charging.

Conclusion:

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus can cater for your need for an entertainment smartphone that packs a punch. Great 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen, good mid-range hardware, great 23MP-8MP camera, good 3430 mAh battery and the promise of an update to the latest Android Oreo 8.0 – combines well for a potent mix. The only thing missing now is on its price tag.

Sony Xperia XA1 Plus is expected to be released next month in October 2017 although there’s no confirmation on the price yet. It will be available in Black, Blue, Gold and Pink colours.
