  • $12,999 Indian Rupee or ~$199 USD for 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and $13,999 Indian Rupee or ~$219 USD for 4GB RAM + 64GB storage

What a great offering by Lenovo, no wonder K8 Note is dubbed the Killer Note. The amount of value that the smartphone provides is astonishing. A sub-$200 smartphone that comes with a 10-core processor, dual 13MP+5MP camera, 4000 mAh battery, Dolby Atmos sound, latest Android Nougat 7.1 OS and so much more.

Where does that leave us with the K8 Plus then? The answer is revealed below:

  • 5.2-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~424 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • Mediatek MT6757 Helio P25 chipset, Octa-core 2.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-T880 MP2 graphics and 3GB RAM
  • Dual 13MP+5MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash
  • 8MP secondary camera
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 128GB
  • Android Nougat 7.1
  • Non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery
  • Dual sim and 4G LTE
  • September 2017 release date
  • 10,999 Indian Rupee or ~USD 169 price tag

We all thought that having the ‘Plus’ on the K8 Plus would mean that it would have a bigger screen or better specs, but we were wrong. It has a slightly smaller 5.2-inch Full HD IPS screen, but the fingerprint sensor and Gorilla Glass 3 protection are still there.

Regarding hardware, there’s no 10-core processor to show off on the K8 Plus. Instead, there’s the Helio P25 chipset, a fast octa-core processor, great graphics and 3GB RAM to boot. This combination still ranks highly in the mid-range segment of the market, so no worries about the performance side of things.

Camera-wise, a dual 13MP+5MP camera setup is available which is almost similar to the K8 Note. This lets you take amazing photos, and you also get to experiment with bokeh effect to great use. Then there’s also the 8MP selfie camera to cater for all your selfies.

Moving on to its storage, you should find the K8 Plus and its 32GB of internal storage just enough to install your favourite apps and games. But if you intend to take lots of high-res photos, then you will need more space. Thankfully there’s the expansion slot that can easily add 128GB of additional space.

The 4000 mAh battery found on the K8 Plus is said to be able to power up the smartphone for two days. All of us need a longer-lasting smartphone, so thanks for answering our prayers.

Lastly, the latest Android Nougat 7.1 is available on the K8 Plus. But with the upcoming release of Android Oreo 8.0, there’s no confirmation yet on whether it will get the update once it is released. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed on this one.

Conclusion:

Lenovo K8 Plus is for those who want a mid-range performer equipped with the dual-camera as its strongest point. And best of all, it won’t cost much at all to own this amazing smartphone. Killer Note 2.0 perhaps?

Lenovo K8 Plus had just been released for approximately 10,999 Indian Rupee or ~USD 169 price tag. You get to choose either Fine Gold or Venom Black colour.
