I bet most of you don’t know much about the company named Blu? Well, they are from Miami, Florida. That’s the reason they are not well-known in these parts of the world apparently.

And the last time we covered their smartphone, was back in February 2016 with a device called Energy X 2:

  • Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection
  • MediaTek 6580 chipset, Quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, ARM Mali-400 GPU and 1GB RAM

  • Dual sim and 4G LTE

  • $249 USD price tag

With the level of pricing that the Vivo 8 is at, we would have expected a mid-range performance smartphone. That’s exactly what this smartphone is all about, starting with its 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen that is equipped with a fingerprint sensor and Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Moving on to the performance, Vivo 8 is sporting the Helio P10 chipset, a decent octa-core processor, good graphics and 4GB RAM. This ensures a good mid-range performance with a balanced combination all over it.

Camera-wise, you can find the 13MP-16MP camera setup very useful as you bring it along with your adventure. Packed with features, the 13MP primary camera that comes with SONY IMX 258 sensor is sure to excite. So does the 16MP selfie camera that comes with an LED flash – all your selfies will look bright even when taken in the dark.

Then there’s the issue of whether you will have enough space to store all the photos? Vivo 8 has that covered very well, with the 64GB internal storage that can be further expanded up to a maximum of 64GB via the expansion slot.

Regarding battery, the 4010 mAh battery is more than capable of supplying enough juice for at least a day or two in between charging. It also has 20 days of stand by time making running out of battery a thing of the past. Due to the SUPER CHARGE 18W = 9V/2A charging power, the phone will be fully charged in less than 2 hours. The dual charging chips also make charging cooler and safer.

To wrap things up, the latest Android Nougat 7.0 is available. But whether Vivo 8 will get the update to the latest Android Oreo 8.0 remains to be seen.

Conclusion:

Blu Vivo 8 have all the characteristics of a solid mid-range smartphone. Good 5.5-inch Full HD IPS screen, great metal body, good mid-range hardware, great 16MP selfie camera, great 64GB internal storage, large 4010 mAh battery, the latest Nougat 7.0 operating system and an affordable pricing makes for an irresistible combination.

Blu Vivo 8 had just been released in August 2017 for approximately $249 USD and is available in Gold and Black colour.
