Vivo V7+'s predecessor, the V5 Plus hit the streets in February 2017, here's a quick recap on V5 Plus' specifications:

  • 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels or ~401 ppi pixel density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Gorilla Glass 5 protection
  • Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 4GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • Dual 20MP + 8MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1/2.8" sensor size

Now with that in mind, let’s turn our attention to the V7+ as per below:

  • 5.99-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1440 pixels or ~269 ppi pixel density
  • Fullview (18:9) Display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, Octa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 4GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash
  • 64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3225 mAh battery
  • Android Nougat 7.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • 15th September 2017 release date
  • 21,990 Indian Rupee or ~$345 USD price tag

By going thru the V7+, you will notice there’s a sudden change in direction . It seems like the work of a dual selfie camera is now overruled by the large 5.99-inch HD IPS screen with Fullview (18:9) Display technology.

Besides that, V7+ is set to be equipped with a slightly lower spec with Snapdragon 450 chipset, a fast octa-core processor, good graphics and 4GB RAM combining to give a solid performance.

The focus is definitely on its 16MP primary camera equipped with all the bells and whistles to provide a great photo-taking experience. But instead of providing us with a dual selfie camera setup, the V7+ will instead be sporting a 24MP selfie camera with LED flash dubbed the Moonlight Glow, Face Beauty 7.0 and Portrait Mode that simulates background blur.

Moving on to the storage, a good 64GB internal storage is available for you to install all your favourite apps and games, as well as to store all your high-res photos. Additionally, there’s the expansion slot that can take in an extra 256GB of space.

There’s a slight worry though on the battery department of the V7+, as it only comes with a rather limited 3225 mAh battery. The latest Android Nougat 7.0 will also be available with the smartphone.

Conclusion:

Vivo V7+ takes on a rather different approach altogether compared to its predecessor. Instead, it went all out to give us a huge 5.99-inch screen with Fullview Display, good mid-range performance, great 16MP-24MP camera setup and large 64GB internal storage. It is also slightly cheaper compared to its predecessor, so more people can afford it.

Vivo V7+ was released for 21,990 Indian Rupee or ~$345 USD price tag. You get to choose from either Champagne Gold or Matte Black colours.
