Let’s now turn our attention to the M7 Power, and scrutinize it further:

  • 6-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1440 pixels, 18:9 ratio or ~268 ppi density
  • Fullview 18:9 display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 chipset, Octa-core 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 505 graphics and 4GB RAM
  • 13MP primary camera with autofocus and LED flash
  • 8MP secondary camera
  • 64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 256GB
  • Non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery
  • Android Nougat 7.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • October 2017 expected release date
  • ~$305 USD estimated price tag

There are lots of difference between the two. First up is its display. Although Fullview Display seems to be the in-thing these days, M7 Power is equipped with a High Definition resolution; despite it sporting a large 6-inch IPS screen. A useful feature is the fingerprint sensor for biometric functions.

Performance-wise, the combination of the Snapdragon 435 chipset, a lowly octa-core processor, decent graphics and 4GB RAM; makes for a medium-low kind of performance. Still good enough for your daily dose of favorite apps and light gaming.

In terms of camera, the 13MP-8MP camera setup found on the M7 Power makes for some good fun. You should be able to capture good-looking photos and selfies.

Naturally, you will then need to be concerned with storage space. Thankfully there’s more than enough space with the 64GB internal storage found on the M7 Power that can also be easily expanded up to a maximum of 256GB.

To round it up, a huge 5000 mAh battery will be available on-hand to supply the necessary power to the phablet.

Conclusion:

Gionee M7 Power seems like a cheaper alternative for those looking for a large phablet with its 6-inch IPS screen with Fullview display, decent hardware, good 13MP-8MP camera, large 64GB storage and huge 5000 mAh battery. Only if you can see past its High Definition resolution, otherwise it would have been great.

Gionee M7 Power is expected to be released very soon for an estimated $305 USD price tag. It is said to be available in Dark Blue, Black and Gold.
