Let’s begin by scrutinising further about this groundbreaking technology — Edge Sense. A simple squeeze now lets you do more than ever before. Launching your camera is incredibly fast. Just pick up your phone and squeeze. Another squeeze and you’ve just captured a magical moment. No more fumbling for buttons or awkward hand positions. A squeeze also lets you switch easily and smoothly between the front and main cameras. With Edge Sense, taking pictures on your smartphone with one hand is easy and you can hold it just like a real camera. You can even launch your favourite apps with it.

U11 Life carries a lot of weight from its bigger sibling, while keeping it tight on the pricing aspect. Despite its smaller 5.2-inch screen size, it still packs a punch with the liquid surface design philosophy. Inspired by the beauty and grace of glass, it incorporates an acrylic glass back surface that’s pleasing to the eye. The phone is crafted to impress using Optical Spectrum Hybrid Deposition. By layering highly-refractive precious minerals across the phone’s back cover, it will transform light with every movement you make.

With HTC U11 Life’s weather resistant IP67 certification, Edge Sense lets you snap great photos with a simple squeeze even when there is dust, rain or snow coming at you. When the elements make it tough to use your screen, Edge Sense makes it possible to click away effortlessly without even having to touch the screen. During the winter months when it’s both wet and cold, keep the gloves on and your hands dry and toasty while Edge Sense lets you use your phone. Great use of advanced technology for the simple things in life.

Moving on to the performance, here we find U11 Life equipped with the mid-range Snapdragon 630 chipset, a fast octa-core processor, good graphics and an option of either 3GB or 4GB RAM size. Although it is amazingly small at 14nm, it packs a powerful punch providing you crystal clear graphics, seamless streaming of hi-def movies or staying connected at ridiculously fast speeds on less battery power. Powerful, but not power hungry.

Blessed with a terrific 16MP-16MP camera combination, U11 Life camera department sure is exciting. The 16MP primary comes with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) for super fast focus speeds with reduced blur. The camera also gives you HDR Boost without the lag and more dynamic exposure range, major noise reduction, excellent detail preservation and better white balance enhancement.

As for storage, you have an option of either 32GB or 64GB, which is fine anyway as there’s the expansion slot that can easily add up to a maximum of 256GB.

With the latest Android Oreo 8.0 running on U11 Life, it is good to know that the latest software is found on the smartphone. No messy updates or waiting for it to be made available, kudos to HTC for that.
