With 6.01-inch Full HD screen on the Gionee M7, it features a slightly larger 0.01-inch and AMOLED technology. Then we have the Fullview display and fingerprint sensor on the smartphone. One thing is for sure, you are going to need a steady arm to handle this large beast.

Hardware-wise, Gionee M7 is indeed fast with the Helio P30 chipset, a fast octa-core, great graphics and 6GB RAM.

There’s nothing that will slow it down, as it blaze through a path of glory.

Moving on to the camera, a great dual 16MP+8MP camera is found on the Gionee M7 that allows for some great shots with its camera and play around with bokeh effect to full use. Then there’s the 8MP selfie camera to complement it.

As for its battery, Gionee M7 has a large enough 4000 mAh battery to last it for a full day of charge without worrying about it running out in the middle of the day.

Now let’s turn our attention to Oppo F5, that is dubbed the ‘selfie expert and leader’. This will be their first smartphone with Fullview display, so let’s scrutinize it further as per below:

  • 6-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio or ~402 ppi density
  • Fullview Display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6763T Helio P23 chipset, Octa-core 2.5 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Mali-G71 MP2 graphics and 6GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • 20MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture and 1/2.8" sensor size

With a 6-inch Full HD IPS screen and Fullview display found on Oppo F5, you will be delighted with the large screen and more screen estate found on the smartphone. A fingerprint sensor is then available to cater for all your biometric purposes.

In terms of hardware, the Oppo F5 should have no problems running most apps and games with its Helio P23 chipset, blazingly fast octa-core processor, great graphics and 6GB RAM.

The best part about the Oppo F5 is definitely on its camera. It is great to have a 16MP primary camera with all the features and functions; but it gets even better with the available 20MP selfie camera.

According to Oppo, “For the first time, the artificial intelligence technology has been integrated into selfies (front camera). The Selfie Expert will feature the ground-breaking AI Beauty technology - which uses artificial intelligence from a massive global photo database, to beautify a selfie shot," the company says in a release ahead of the launch.

Due to the better selfie camera, Oppo also wants you to use facial recognition to unlock the F5. According to them, their facial unlock feature can be activated in just 0.4 seconds. They added that Face Unlock is convenient and safe, but you can always select other unlocking methods such as fingerprint, password and pattern unlock.

A slight concern though on its smallish 3200 mAh battery, as the Oppo F5 might have an issue to last for a full day of charge; more so if you are a heavy user.

Gionee M7’s major strength is on its large 6.01-inch Full HD AMOLED screen with Fullview display, slightly better hardware, great dual 16MP+8MP primary camera and a large 4000 mAh battery to boot.

Gionee M7 is currently available for $425 USD and there’s plenty of colours to choose from: Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, Maple Red, Champagne Gold and Black.

Oppo F5 is the undisputed selfie leader in this case, that also possesses a large 6-inch Full HD IPS screen with Fullview display, great 16MP primary camera, amazing 20MP selfie camera and cheaper by $40 USD in this case.

Oppo F5 is currently available for 24,990 Indian Rupees or ~$385 USD and comes in Gold and Rose Gold colour.
