Vivo V7 is the smaller (and lesser) version of the great V7+, but is the $50 USD savings justifiable? Read on to find out more.

Let’s begin today’s show by looking back at the V7+ which was released just a couple of months ago:

  • 5.99-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1440 pixels or ~269 ppi pixel density
  • Fullview (18:9) Display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, Octa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 4GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash
  • 64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3225 mAh battery
  • Android Nougat 7.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • September 2017 release date
  • 21,990 Indian Rupee or ~$345 USD price tag

V7+ was among the first to sport the Fullview display alongside its huge 5.99-inch screen, good mid-range performance, great 16MP-24MP camera setup and large 64GB internal storage. The only disappointing part is when it pairs with just a High Definition resolution, instead of Full HD.

Expected to be released on November 25th, here’s what the V7 has to offer:

  • 5.7-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1440 pixels, 18:9 ratio or ~282 ppi density
  • Fullview display
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset, Octa-core 1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, Adreno 506 graphics and 4GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/2.0 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash
  • 24MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash
  • 32GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery
  • Android Nougat 7.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • November 25th 2017 release date
  • 18,990 Indian Rupee or ~$295 USD price tag

The V7 took a slight hit with the $50 USD price cut. Among others, the V7 will be sporting a slightly smaller (but still big) 5.7-inch IPS screen with the same High Definition resolution.

The storage also went down to 32GB of internal storage, while the battery shrunk slightly to just 3000 mAh battery.

But other than that, the V7 will still be having a good mid-range performance with the Snapdragon 450 chipset, fast octa-core, good graphics and 4GB RAM. Plenty of performance for running your daily apps and some gaming as well.

Then comes the best part of all, the 24MP selfie camera that also comes with LED flash. All your selfies will turn out looking great, even when under the cover of darkness. The 16MP primary camera then complements it nicely.

Conclusion:

Vivo V7 provides for a smaller 5.7-inch IPS screen option for those who can’t adapt to the huge 5.99-inch offered by the V7+ but still wants the amazing 24MP selfie camera. With Fullview display, solid mid-range performance, 32GB internal storage and 3000 mAh battery make a good choice.

Vivo V7 is expected to be released on November 25th for 18,990 Indian Rupees or ~$295 USD price tag. The same colours are available, with Champagne Gold and Matte Black colour.
