Which then brings us back to the X20 Plus UD.

Will there be anything else different in this model? Let’s check it out as per below:

  • 6.43-inch Full HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio or ~376 ppi density
  • FullView display
  • Fingerprint under-display sensor
  • Qualcomm MSM8956 Plus Snapdragon 660 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 260) processor and 4GB RAM
  • Dual 12MP+5MP primary camera with f/1.8aperture, autofocus and LED flash
  • 12MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture
  • 128GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3900 mAh battery
  • Android Nougat 7.1.1
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • February 1st, 2018 release date
  • 3,598 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 569 price tag

The answer is pretty straightforward. By paying USD 40 more, you will get the same X20 Plus with the fingerprint scanner under its display and double the storage at 128GB of internal storage.

The highlight of the device is the UD fingerprint scanner. To unlock the X20 Plus UD, it will be as simple as putting your finger on the screen. The technology was developed through a partnership between Vivo and Synaptics. The sensor is touted to detect fingerprint in a few milliseconds and can work under layers up to 1.5mm thick, including a screen protector. The downside to this is that you can’t use a thick screen protector. Not to worry, as the smartphone will come bundled with a compatible screen protector.

It does bring about a degree of convenience to it, so thank you Vivo for thinking outside the box with the X20 Plus UD.

Conclusion:

Vivo X20 Plus UD is a rare breed where it writes itself into history. With everything similar to the X20 Plus, it gets the treatment of the under-display fingerprint scanner and a huge 128GB of internal storage for just USD 40 more.

Vivo X20 Plus UD is set to go on sale on February 1st for approximately 3,598 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 569. It will be available in Matte Black, Gold and Rose Gold colours.
