Well then, a smartphone called mini but isn’t a reduced version of a device? The actual thing might even surprise you. Read on to find more intriguing things about ZTE Nubia Z18 Mini.

It is exactly a year ago since the Nubia Z17 Mini came into the picture. Let’s begin by checking out the predecessor to know how far they’ve become since then:

ZTE Nubia Z17 Mini sets itself up to be a great mid-range smartphone who wants a device that is not too big, but great on everything else. The dual 13MP primary camera should get everyone excited; same goes with its 16MP selfie camera. But beyond that, it is a great mid-range device with the right mix of everything.

And did you know that when it was first launched, around 50,000 devices were sold out in just 56 seconds?

With that in mind, the Nubia Z18 Mini seems to have quite a big shoe to fill for the Chinese manufacturer. Not too worry too much though, as it seems to be very capable as well:

  • 5.7-inch Full HD LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2160 pixels, 18:9 ratio or ~424 ppi density
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Gorilla Glass protection
  • Qualcomm SDM660 Snapdragon 660 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Kryo 260 & 4x1.8 GHz Kryo 260) processor, Adreno 512 graphics and 6GB RAM

  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • April 2018 release date
  • 1,799 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 285 for 64GB internal storage and 2,099 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 330 for 128GB internal storage

As mentioned earlier, don’t be fooled by the Mini name. Nubia Z18 Mini sports a typically large 5.7-inch Full HD LTPS IPS screen with Fullview display. Then there’s the fingerprint sensor and Gorilla Glass protection as usual.

Under the hood of the Nubia Z18 Mini is something in the mid-range, with the Snapdragon 660 chipset, fast Kryo octa-core processor, good Adreno 512 graphics and a huge 6GB RAM. Simply put, there shouldn’t be any issues with this smartphone to run most of the apps and games that are out there on the market.

On the camera side of things, the primary camera seems to have improved with the availability of the dual 24MP+5MP secondary camera. More high-quality shots can be taken with this device. But the selfie camera takes quite a hit, going down from a 16MP snapper to just an 8MP shooter.

Storage-wise, the Nubia Z18 Mini now features a 128GB internal storage option. Either way, you can still add an additional 256GB via the microSD expansion slot.

Even on the battery aspect of the Nubia Z18 Mini has been further improved, by almost 20%. With the 3450 mAh battery capacity providing the necessary power, one full day of use can easily be achieved.

Last but not least, the latest Android Oreo 8.1 operating system ensures that this smartphone gets all the help it can get regarding optimisations and new features and functions.

ZTE Nubia Z18 Mini is a great departure from its previous roots. Featuring a large 5.7-inch Full HD LTPS IPS screen with Fullview display, great mid-range performance with 6GB RAM, great dual 24MP+5MP primary camera, large battery capacity and the latest OS makes for a great combination. Plus, the price is on the affordable side as well.

The ZTE Nubia Z18 Mini had just been released for 1,799 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 285 for the 64GB internal storage option or 2,099 Chinese Yuan or ~$330 for the 128GB internal storage option. Five colour options are available, namely Provence Edition, Ying Yu powder, Celadon Blue, Diamond Black and Glacier White.
