Oppo R15 Pro: the definitive 6.28-inch phablet with dual 16MP+20MP AI primary camera

Super full screen, improved camera technology, upgraded facial recognition and many more is what you can expect out of it.

Earlier we had covered its sibling called the R15, which is already phenomenal. Here’s the recap of its specs as per below:

The R15 does stand its ground against all the other big boys with its huge 6.28-inch Full HD AMOLED screen, 128GB storage, dual primary camera, latest hardware,  recent software and everything else. Your only concern is whether you have a huge pair of hands to handle it nicely.

Now then, we all know how the Pro version is supposed to be better in most ways right? With that in mind, let’s give the R15 Pro its lowdown that it deserves:

As you can see from the above, the R15 Pro does have a lot up its sleeves for those who want the absolute best in everything.

From the outset, everything is similar with the R15. It is still sporting the 6.28-inch Full HD AMOLED screen that is bezel-less and features a Super Full Screen. The notch display also has enhanced customised standby Multitasking functions and deep system optimisations, based on its ColorOS 5.0. The narrow left and right frames can provide convenient notifications shortcuts to multiple functions and third-party apps. With gesture operations and full-screen multi-tasking, it offers an unparalleled screen experience.

colour As an added advantage, there’s the IP67-rated protection that makes the R15 Pro dust and water resistant.

Moving on to the hardware side of things, you can sat that the R15 Pro have more going on for it with the Snapdragon 660 chipset, fast Kryo octa-core processor, good Adreno 512 graphics and 6GB RAM. There’s nothing that will slow it down for sure.

Camera-wise, the dual 16MP+20MP are sure to bring lots of joy as you take great-looking photos with it. Along with upgraded scenario recognition based on AI-enhanced technologies, it is also the first smartphone to adopt Sony IMX519 sensor on the rear with 1.22μm single pixel size, bringing a larger photosensitive area and stronger performance. Then there’s the 20MP selfie camera with the re-invented ‘Sensor-HDR’ technology that dramatically improves backlight Selfies and allows users to check high dynamic exposure live effects in real-time.

Regarding storage, you will find that 128GB of internal space is enough for all your daily usage and heavy photoshoot. Even then, it is effortless to add up to a maximum of 256GB via the microSD expansion slot.

Oppo R15 Pro ups its game by offering serious value for money. Oppo R15 Pro had just been released in the China market and will be available as early as July 2nd in Australia. It has a retail price of $779 Australian Dollar or ~$575 USD and you get to choose either Cosmic Red or Ruby Purple color.
