HTC U12 Plus: live on the edge with this 6-inch flagship

It has been a while since we last heard of the Taiwanese company, but the world stood up and noticed the HTC U12 Plus having just released a couple of weeks ago.

But before we begin, let’s do a quick throwback to last year’s amazing U11 Plus:

  • Front/back glass & aluminum frame
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection

Starting with the obvious, U12 Plus sports a similar 6-inch screen size and resolution – but with an upgraded Super LCD6 screen. The new 3D glass on this 18:9 beauty delivers ultra-thin borders that are 2mm narrower than HTC U11.

You also get to enjoy a more comfortable hold and view, so you can focus on what you love. The water-resistant IP68 rating means you can use your phone even when there’s rain or dust. The next generation of Edge Sense offers more useful features and now even knows which hand you are using, giving you true one-handed freedom for either hand.

The camera aspect of the U12 Plus is the highlight of the show here. It received the highest-rated dual camera setup in the smartphone industry. With four cameras, it delivers outstanding quality imaging and opens up whole new worlds for artistic creativity. Your photos will be amazing, and your videos with immersive audio will stand out from the crowd. No other smartphone can challenge the dual 12MP+16MP primary camera and dual 8MP selfie camera that it has.

With HTC BoomSound audio, it offers the loudest and clearest sound that you will ever hear from a smartphone. The subtle woofer and tweeter separation design produce unheard of power and clarity.

Battery-wise, the 3500 mAh-rated battery is just delightful to power up the flagship for a full day of charge. When the time comes to plug it in, it only takes 35 minutes to get it up to 50%.

Finally, the promise of the update to the latest Android P 9.0 operating system once it is out in the market; will further prolong its shelf life in the smartphone arena.

HTC U12 Plus saw lots of exciting changes going on compared to last year’s flagship. The best thing is, all that improvements and enhancements come with a lower price tag. You should check it out if you have the dough.

HTC U12 Plus had just been released for approximately USD 799. There are three colours for you to choose from: Translucent Blue, Ceramic Black and Flame Red.
