Fancy a capable smartphone with four cameras that will trample all others with its huge size? Then say hello to the recently released Huawei Nova 3i.

But before we begin, let’s take a step back and do a quick throwback to its predecessor – Nova 2i:

  • 5.9-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2160 pixels or ~407 ppi pixel density
  • Fullview Display
  • Metal body
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.36 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-T830 MP2 graphics and 4GB RAM

  • Dual 13MP+2MP selfie camera

  • Emotion UI 5.1 based on Android Nougat 7.0 operating system
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • October 2017 release date
  • USD 330 price tag

It was the Nova 2i that started this craze with 5.9-inch IPS screen and Fullview display. Not only that, there’s the great look and feel, good mid-range performance, an amazing four cameras, large storage and large battery to boot. To round up, the price is somewhat irresistible as well.

Now let’s turn our attention to the Nova 3i as per below:

  • 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio or ~409 ppi density
  • Fullview display
  • Back glass and metal mid-frame
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Hisilicon Kirin 710 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4x1.7 GHz Cortex-A53) processor, Mali-G51 MP4 graphics and 4GB/6GB RAM
  • Dual 16MP with f/2.2, PDAF and 2MP primary camera with depth sensor
  • Dual 24MP and 2MP primary camera with depth sensor
  • 64GB/128GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to 256GB maximum
  • Android Oreo 8.1
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3340 mAh battery
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • August 7th, 2018 release date
  • USD 309 price tag

From the outset, we can see how huge is the Nova 3i with its giant 6.3-inch Full HD+ IPS screen.

Blessed with beautiful hues of colour on the back glass and metal mid-frame, you will enjoy the incredible visual and handling experience.

Let's talk about the best part about the Nova 3i – the four cameras. With the specialised four AI cameras solution of the 16MP + 2MP primary camera and 24MP + 2MP selfie camera, it guarantees impressive photos with high clarity and bokeh effects.

Capturing selfies is where the Nova 3i truly shines, as it can beautify your portrait picture with an advanced algorithm for it to be natural and appealing. Moreover, the powerful AI scenery recognition can adjust the surroundings to match your real beauty in the selfie.

By taking lots of pictures, you will then need to pay attention to how much space you have left. Thankfully with the Nova 3i, there’s plenty of it to go around. You get to choose either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, that can be easily added up to a maximum of 256GB via the expansion slot.

Finally, the 3340 mAh battery that remained unchanged should do a good job of providing at least a full day of charge for the Nova 3i.

Conclusion:

Nova 3i is a good upgrade from last year’s model. With a larger screen size, solid body, better hardware, better cameras, an option for 128GB of internal storage and a cheaper price tag makes for a perfect deal.

Huawei Nova 3i is said to be released on August 7th with a $309 USD price tag. You get to choose either Black, Pearl White or Iris Purple color.
