For fans of large screen devices, Apple iPhone XS Max is made just for you (if you can afford it).

It has been almost a month since Apple released their lineup of new iPhones to the market. The largest of them all is here, but let’s begin by taking a step down to the second largest of it – the iPhone XS:

  • 5.8-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1125 x 2436 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio or ~458 ppi density
  • Super Retina HD display
  • True-tone display
  • Front/back glass, stainless steel frame
  • IP68 dust/water resistant of up to 2meters for 30 minutes
  • Scratch-resistant glass, oleophobic coating
  • Apple Pay (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX certified)

  • 7MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture and 32mm (standard)
  • 64GB/256GB/512GB internal storage with no expansion slot
  • iOS 12
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 2658 mAh battery with Fast battery charging (30% in 50 minutes) and Qi wireless charging

  • USD 999 USD price tag for 64GB storage, USD 1,149 for 256GB storage and USD 1,349 USD for 512GB storage

Apple iPhone XS is priced just below USD 1,000 for all the above. Die-hard fans are already loving it by the looks of it.

Want something bigger and flashier? This is where the iPhone XS Max comes into the picture:

  • 6.5-inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1242 x 2688 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio or ~458 ppi density
  • Super Retina HD display
  • True-tone display
  • Front/back glass, stainless steel frame
  • IP68 dust/water resistant of up to 2meters for 30 minutes
  • Scratch-resistant glass, oleophobic coating
  • Apple Pay (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX certified)
  • Apple A12 Bionic chipset, Hexa-core (2x Vortex + 4x Tempest) processor, Apple GPU (4-core graphics) and 4GB RAM
  • 12MP with f/1.8 aperture, 28mm (wide), 1/2.55", 1.4µm, OIS and PDAF + 12MP primary camera with f/2.4 aperture, 52mm (telephoto), 1/3.4", 1.0µm, OIS, PDAF, 2x optical zoom, Quad-LED dual-tone flash and HDR (photo/panorama)
  • 7MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture and 32mm (standard)
  • 64GB/256GB/512GB internal storage with no expansion slot
  • iOS 12
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3174 mAh battery with Fast battery charging (30% in 50 minutes) and Qi wireless charging
  • 4G LTE
  • September 2018 release date
  • USD 1,099 price tag for 64GB storage, USD 1,249 for 256GB storage and USD 1,449 for 512GB storage

Well it seems that, other than the huge 6.5-inch screen size remains the same.

It is the same Super Retina that comes with an all-screen design that gives you a large, beautiful canvas for everything you love to do. The OLED panels in allow for an HDR display with the industry’s best colour accuracy, true blacks, and remarkable brightness and contrast. They’re the sharpest displays, with the highest pixel density, on any Apple device. Not forgetting the IP68 level of resistance which makes it the most durable glass, sealed and precision-fitted with the surgical-grade stainless steel band, that helps create a more water-resistant enclosure — up to 2 meters for 30 minutes.

Under the hood of the iPhone XS Max is where you can feel the A12 Bionic in action. The processing power and intelligence of the A12 Bionic makes the smartphone incredibly capable. But the chip was also designed with efficiency in mind. When you put all that power into play, you still get great battery life. The new GPU makes all kinds of games — especially 3D, graphics-intensive gameplay — faster and more fluid.

They say the camera aspect of the iPhone XS Max is the greatest, and it really is. The dual 12MP+12MP primary camera might not seem that much from outside, but once you zoom in you find what makes it a champion. Starting with Smart HDR, it leverages multiple technologies — like faster sensors, an enhanced ISP, and advanced algorithms to bring more highlight and shadow detail to your photos. Next, we have an adjustable depth of field that lets you take a great portrait and make it even more amazing with Depth Control. It is so easy to adjust the depth of field to blur the background as much or as little as you want. Finally, for selfie lovers we have Enhanced Portrait mode selfies. The TrueDepth camera generates a precise depth map to keep you in focus against a blurred background. Depth Control then lets you adjust the depth of field after you shoot.

Another cool aspect of this amazing smartphone is with Face ID that has reinvented the way we unlock, log in, and pay. The TrueDepth camera system, the Secure Enclave, and the Neural Engine — make it the most secure facial authentication ever in a smartphone. And even faster and easier to use.

Finally, the battery capacity of 3174 mAh battery is just nice to power up the smartphone for a full day and more.

Conclusion:

Apple iPhone XS Max is targeted at those who love large screen devices with lots of money to spare. Some may find it expensive, but the value it brings is just out of this world. As usual, it has been selling like hot cakes and the usual long lines to get them.

Apple iPhone XS Max had just been released in September 2018 and is available for USD 1,099 price tag for the 64GB storage variant, USD 1,249 for the 256GB storage variant and USD 1,449  for the 512GB storage variant. The usual colours are available: Space Gray, Silver and Gold.
