Tight on budget, but still want that flagship experience? Look no further than the upcoming LG G7 Fit, that should be able to satisfy most users.

So, let’s begin by taking a closer look at the G7 ThinQ that it is based on:

  • 6.1-inch Quad HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 3120 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio or ~564 ppi density
  • Always-on display
  • Fullview display
  • MIL-STD-810G certified shock resistant
  • IP68 certification with dust and water proof over 1.5 meters and 30 minutes
  • Gorilla Glass 5 protection

  • Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset, Octa-core (4x2.8 GHz Kryo 385 Gold & 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver) processor, Adreno 630 graphics and 4GB/6GB RAM
  • Dual 16MP (f/1.6 aperture, OIS, laser&PDAF) + 16MP (f/1.9 aperture), laser & phase detection autofocus and LED flash

  • DTS-X sound
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • June 2018 release date
  • USD 749 price tag

With a huge price tag, the G7 ThinQ offers a great smartphone experience that doesn’t break the bank. Large 6.1-inch Full HD IPS screen, great protection in the form of military-grade protection, IP68 certification and Gorilla Glass 5, high-end hardware with Snapdragon 845, great dual 16MP+16MP primary camera, great sound system and the planned upgrade to the latest Android Pie 9.0 that further enhances its value.

That’s where the G7 Fit tries to fit in, as you can see from the below:

  • 6.1-inch Quad HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1440 x 3120 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio or ~564 ppi density
  • Always-on display
  • Fullview display
  • MIL-STD-810G certified shock resistant
  • IP68 certification with dust and waterproof over 1.5 meters and 30 minutes
  • Gorilla Glass 5 protection
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 (14 nm) chipset
  • 16MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, 28mm (wide), PDAF & laser AF, LED flash, HDR and panorama
  • 8MP secondary camera with f/1.9 aperture and 26mm (wide)
  • 32GB/64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 512GB
  • Android Oreo 8.1
  • Non-removable Li-Po 3000 mAh battery with Fast battery charging (Quick Charge 3.0)
  • DTS-X sound
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • Expected November 2018 release date

There’s plenty of similarities between the G7 Fit that is supposedly cheaper with its more-expensive sibling. Yes, it will be fitted with a similar 6.1-inch Quad HD IPS screen with all the bells and whistles that make for some of the best viewings.

Regarding protection, you can say that it will be practically indestructible with the military-grade certification, Gorilla Glass 5 and IP68 certification that even lets you take this smartphone on a water adventure.

If there’s a catch, it is where you find the G7 Fit with the Snapdragon 821 which is from the year 2016. The performance is still there, but you may see it lagging when running intensive apps and games.

Similarly, the 16MP primary camera is just that. No dual camera setup is found on the G7 Fit, which is bad news for most people.

Then the rest is all the same, leaving the G7 Fit in a bit of dilemma.

Conclusion:

LG G7 Fit is targeting at those looking for some flagship experience, albeit with using some of 2016’s tech. You probably won’t notice the performance part, as most daily apps and games will be running at full speed. But to have just a 16MP primary camera will turn off a lot of people though. Finally, there’s the pricing which needs to be just nice, but at this point is still unknown.

LG G7 Fit is said to be released by this month in November 2018, although we do not have the official price yet. You get to choose to go for either New Aurora Black or New Platinum Gray colour.
