Tecno Camon 11 Pro: the beast from Africa is now out in the wild

image

For most of us, we may have not heard of the Tecno brand name. But with Camon 11 Pro having recently released, it should be a matter of time before they are getting the attention they deserved.

Before we begin, why don’t we get acquainted with Tecno Mobile for a while. According to Wikipedia:

Tecno Mobile is a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer which is based in Hong Kong. It was established in 2006. It is a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings.

Tecno focused its business on Africa and the South Asian market.

However, following market research conducted in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America, the company found that Africa was the most lucrative region. As a result of this, in 2008, it stopped doing business in Asia to exclusively focus on Africa.

Later in 2016, Tecno entered Middle East mobiles phones market after acquiring a good market in Africa, and then in Southeast Asia in 2017.

OK then, let’s now move on to the business side of things with the Camon 11 Pro:

  • 6.2-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1500 pixels or ~268 ppi density
  • Infrared face recognition (Face ID)
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 (12 nm) chipset, Octa-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor, PowerVR GE8320 and 6GB RAM
  • 16MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, 25mm (wide), AF + 5MP with f/2.4 aperture, depth sensor, Quad-LED dual-tone flash, HDR and panorama
  • 24MP secondary camera with f/2.0 aperture, 26mm (wide), LED flash and HDR
  • 64GB internal storage + microSD expansion slot up to maximum 128GB
  • Android Oreo 8.1
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3750 mAh battery
  • Dual sim and 4G LTE
  • November 2018 release date
  • 76,000 Nigerian Naira or ~$209 USD price tag

We kick things off by taking note of its large 6.2-inch size that comes with IPS technology. But sad to say, the Camon 11 Pro only comes with a High Definition. Not sure why it was not equipped with a Full HD resolution, which is mind-boggling. At least the Face ID is there which keeps your smartphone secure and provides for an easy way to unlock it.

Regarding performance, the Helio P22 chipset combined with a fast octa-core processor, good graphics and a whopping 6GB RAM – makes for a compelling smartphone. You should have no problem running most of the apps and games that are out there in the market.

Camera-wise, this is where the Camon 11 Pro shines the brightest. First, we have the 16MP+5MP dual primary camera which enables you to create impressive and dramatic studio-quality images. It delivers vivid, sharp photos even in poorly-lit conditions. How about a Quad-LED dual-tone flash?

Then we have the 24MP AI Clear Selfie camera which uses AI technology to beautify images, and lets you have bright and awesome selfies. With 4 in 1 technology and professional re-mosaic algorithm and the adjustable front flashlights, it captures a clear you.

Moving on to storage, the 64GB built-in storage is more than enough for all your needs. And should you need more space, an additional 128GB can be added easily via the microSD expansion slot.

Finally, the 3750 mAh battery is more than enough to supply the necessary juice to last you for a full day of charge.

Conclusion:

Tecno Camon 11 Pro is a hidden gem that is waiting to be discovered. It comes with a large 6.2-inch IPS screen and a notch, Face ID unlocking mechanism, great mid-range hardware, great 16MP+5MP primary camera, amazing 24MP AI Clear Selfie camera, large 64GB storage and a 3750 mAh battery that can easily last for a full day. The only weak link is the fact that it comes with just an HD resolution.

Tecno Camon 11 Pro had just been released for 76,000 Nigerian Naira or ~$209 USD and is available only in Nebula Black colour.
