The NEX S offers a touch of class wrapped in a beautiful body and performs like a beast of a smartphone. The innovative fingerprint under-display, amazing Ultra FullView display, high-end hardware, great dual 12MP+5MP primary camera, the one-of-a-kind elevated 8MP selfie camera and 4000 mAh battery are just some of the highlights of the show.

Without further ado, let’s now turn our attention to the NEX Dual Display which has the following specs:

  • 6.39-inch Full HD Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio and ~403 ppi density
  • 5.49-inch Full HD Super AMOLED with 1080 x 1920 pixels secondary display

  • Triple primary camera: 12MP with f/1.8 aperture, 1/2.55", 1.4µm, 4-axis OIS, dual pixel PDAF, LED flash, HDR and panorama + 2MP with f/1.8 aperture and depth sensor + TOF camera with f/1.3 aperture
  • 128GB internal storage with no microSD expansion slot
  • Android Pie 9.0
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • Non-removable Li-Ion 3500 mAh battery
  • December 29th, 2018 expected release date
  • 4,998 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 725 estimated price tag

The first that stands out when you are looking at the NEX Dual Display smartphone is the “Lunar Ring” feature. It serves a few different purposes, like emitting a soft glow to help you capture the perfect selfie, or it can change colours accordingly to the notifications that you have set.

Yes, it does have a large 6.39-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with FullView display, but it’s the 5.49-inch secondary display that makes it unique. First, it lets you take selfies differently; and secondly, it makes for another kind of interactivity – think of it as a gamepad for playing mobile games more smoothly.

Regarding performance, the NEX Dual Display belongs right up there in the high-end flagship space. This is due to its powerful Snapdragon 845 paired with a speedy Kryo octa-core processor, high-end graphics and an incredible 10GB memory. There’s nothing that this beast won’t be able to run fast enough.

Camera-wise, the triple primary camera setup is indeed a blessing. The result is stunning photos being captured with the 12MP+2MP+TOF camera combination. The 12MP+2MP camera is your standard stuff, while the TOF camera will be used for 3D depth sensing. Expect more lively and accurate photos from it.

And by taking lots of high-res photos, you will then need to be mindful of the storage space available. Even though there’s no expansion slot, thankfully the NEX Dual Display comes with 128GB of internal storage that is more than enough; before you have to move things around or do some housekeeping along the way.

The latest Android Pie 9.0 software will be accompanying it upon its release. This makes for a smooth operation coupled with all the latest features and enhancements that it brings to the table.

But if there’s one thing that you should slightly be worried about, is on its 3500 mAh battery. Not saying that it is not good, but if you are a heavy user – be prepared to bring along a power bank just in case.

Conclusion:

Vivo NEX Dual Display is indeed an amazing flagship smartphone, thanks to the innovative secondary display, lunar ring feature, high-end hardware, triple camera setup, large storage and the latest operating system to boot. Plus, the price is on the affordable side with the value that it offers.

Vivo NEX Dual Display is said to be released on December 29th for an estimated price tag of 4,998 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 725. There’s only one color available though, which is Polar Blue.
