Huawei Honor View 20: meet the 6.4-inch monster with 48MP primary camera and 25MP selfie camera

Get ready this January, as Huawei Honor View 20 will make its debut as it aims to become the camera beast of all time.

It was just a year ago that the Honor View 10 first came into the scene with the following specs:

  • Fullview display
  • All-metal body

Even at that time, the Honor View 10 combines only the best ingredients to give you a solid flagship smartphone. Large 5.99-inch screen with Fullview display, an all-metal body, great performance, great dual 20MP+16MP primary camera, the latest Oreo 8.0 operating system (at that time) is what you get, at a very cool price.

Now that we are in 2019, surely it needs a refresh and a worthy successor. Here’s to the Honor View 20 in its full glory:

  • 6.4-inch Full HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 2310 pixels or ~398 ppi density
  • Fullview display
  • Front glass, aluminium frame
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • HiSilicon Kirin 980 (7 nm) chipset, Octa-core (2x2.6 GHz Cortex-A76 & 2x1.92 GHz Cortex-A76 & 4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A55) processor, Mali-G76 MP10 graphics and 6GB/8GB RAM
  • 48MP dual primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, 1/2", 0.8µm, PDAF + TOF 3D stereo camera, Panorama, HDR and LED flash
  • 25MP secondary camera with f/2.0, 27mm and HDR
  • 128GB/256GB internal storage with no expansion slot
  • Android Pie 9.0
  • Non-removable Li-Po 4000 mAh battery with Fast battery charging (55% in just 30 minutes)
  • Dual-sim and 4G LTE
  • January 22nd 2019 release date
  • 2,999 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 435 price tag

As you can see, Honor View 20 goes all out to impress everyone.

Starting with a large 6.4-inch Full HD IPS screen with Fullview display, it exuberates style and substance with the exquisite front glass and aluminium body. It scores very high on the aesthetics segment.

Under the hood of the Honor View 20 is nothing but the best, with Kirin 980, fastest Kryo octa-core processor, high-end graphics and either 6GB or 8GB RAM.

Perhaps the best part of it all is on its staggering 48MP dual primary camera combo with a TOF 3D stereo camera. This represents a massive leap in camera capabilities coming from a smartphone, and early shots are impressive. Not only that, the 25MP selfie camera will also be there to satisfy all our selfie cravings.

Storage-wise, there won’t be an expansion slot available though. But with either 128GB or 256GB option, you won’t be running out of space anytime soon. Or you can just go for cloud storage for all your needs.

Regarding battery, the 4000 mAh battery is more than capable of supplying the necessary juice for the Honor View 20 to last for a day or two. When the time comes to plug it in, it only takes 30 minutes to get it up to 55% of battery capacity.

Finally, the latest Android Pie 9.0 will be available right out of the box – which is a huge compliment to the great hardware that it possesses.

Conclusion:

Huawei Honor View 20 is a rare breed of flagship that promises a high-end performance, high-end camera, high on storage, high on battery life; but not high on price.

Huawei Honor View 20 is all set for its release on January 22nd in Paris. Price will start from 2,999 Chinese Yuan or ~ USD 435 for the 128GB storage + 6GB RAM. It will be available in Sea Blue, Phantom Blue, Red and Magic Night Black colours.
