Demand triggered by SMBs for advanced email capabilities, with options for collaboration, sharing and active synchronisation
iiNet, Australia’s second largest DSL Internet Service Provider (ISP) and the leading challenger in the country’s telecommunication market has implemented Hosted Exchange email services to its SMB customers, enabled by Parallels. This offering is made possible with the deployment of Parallels Automation and will bring enterprise grade email capabilities to small to medium businesses (SMBs).
This offering comes at a time when there is an increased demand by Australian SMBs for advanced email capabilities, with options for collaboration, sharing and active synchronisation. With approximately 1.2 million SMBs in Australia, iiNet will leverage the end-to-end automation and scalability capabilities of the Parallels Automation platform to roll out a Hosted Exchange service, offering customers seamless integration with Microsoft Outlook, a rich web client, synchronisation across their mobile devices and tools for improved team collaboration.
“With the scalability and robust nature of Parallels Automation, it is easy for us to launch the Hosted Exchange service. We’re able to reduce our operating costs through extensive systems automation and it allows us to deliver a wide variety of new cloud services to our customers. It also enabled us to close the gap in the market by offering this service at a very competitive price point,” said Kevin Clark, Hosting Manager, iiNet.
The deployment of Parallels Automation enabled iiNet to include Hosted Exchange in the existing platform and introduce the service to their customers within three months, a relatively speedy timeframe.
“Our goal is to help enable our partners such as iiNet to strengthen their position in the cloud space by addressing the increasing IT needs of its SMB customers. Parallels Automation is unique, offering customers a robust solution with the ability to scale up to the largest cloud deployments, as seen with iiNet’s launch of Hosted Exchange. SMBs bring tremendous business opportunity in Australia, and we’re proud that partners such as iiNet is able to meet and satisfy the demand for increasing cloud and hosted services,” said David Dzienciol, Regional Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific.
“Parallels Automation has equipped iiNet’s customers with a full suite of email capabilities while still offering simplified integrated billing and self service capabilities,” added Dzienciol.
With the launch of Hosted Exchange services, SMBs will be spared the need to purchase and manage their own software and hardware systems required to support their email needs. They will also receive consolidated billing for multiple services allowing them to focus on their core business.
