New company name reflects the growth in portfolio and new markets
NewsGator Technologies has announced it is changing its name to Sitrion. NewsGator acquired Sitrion in October 2013 and added sophisticated HR self-services and SAP integration capabilities. With this addition, the company now provides an integrated offering that allows customers to build a truly social workplace and modernise HR.
"Our new corporate identity signifies our transformation into a company focused on world-class solutions empowering people to work better,” said Daniel Kraft, NewsGator’s President & CEO. “New ways to network require new technologies to make it work and our mission is to do just that: unlock the amazing power realized when people connect and align behind a goal.”
NewsGator has been making social a reality for the last ten years. Today, as Sitrion they will continue to make social in integral part of work while allowing employees to access all the information already available in systems of record like SAP or SharePoint.
At Sitrion, we help employees to get their job done better every day. In a complex enterprise world, we enable an engaged workforce to stay connected, make smart decisions and be productive. Leveraging their investments in SAP or SharePoint, millions of users depend on us to drive innovation, discover untapped expertise and simplify business processes. Bring it all together
Goodbye NewsGator - Hello Sitrion
Today marks a major milestone in our company’s development. We said goodbye to the NewsGator brand and renamed the company Sitrion. Let me share some of the thinking about where we are taking the company and put the rebranding in context.
Make Social Real
We’ve made social a reality for some of the greatest companies on the planet. Eighty percent of all branded consumer goods come from our customers and fifty percent of the top of financial institutions have built their social workplaces on our products. Since I joined the company, I’ve visited about 75 of our customers and while each of them is different, there is one thing they all have in common – a desire to build a better company.
Airbus is asking: How do we build better airplanes? Kellogg is asking: How do we make a better breakfast? And Merck is asking: How do we make better drugs to fight disease? But it is not just the “company” - it’s the people that want to do a great job and are looking for ways to improve how work is done. For all of them, social is the means to an end - a better way to do a great job.
Unlock the Power of Connected People
People achieve great things together and the ways people network have evolved over time. Initially it was all about connecting hands through technology which lead to factories and mass production. Later we connected minds to build the knowledge-based economy we live in today. And, through social technologies, we found a way to even connect on an emotional level – the network of hearts.
All those steps in the evolution of work unlocked massive power that made people much better at their jobs. New ways to network require new technologies to make it work and our mission is to do just that: unlock that amazing power when people connect and align behind a goal.
Make Work Better
So how can we take the next step in the evolution of work? The answer is shockingly simply: just do it. All the information you need is already available in some system of record like SAP or SharePoint; every person or particular expert you are looking for already exists in your company’s HR or Innovation system. So why not just bring this all together in a beautiful experience so we can really focus on work? Well, that is exactly what we did.
Be Engaged: The #1 driver for employee productivity is engagement. We know that people are at their best if they feel like they are contributing to something important. Therefore we built that social engagement right into the core of product. The Social Enterprise becomes a reality. (Link to social workplace product page)
Be Connected: We know that people like to stay connected whether they are in the office or working remotely. That’s why we’re making everything with a mobile first approach - Windows 8, iOS, Android, you name it. And, of course, we can integrate with your traditional communication channels like Exchange, Lync, Yammer or Chatter. (Link to mobility business case)
Be Smart: We know that smart decisions make work better, and we understand what it takes to make a smart decision. That is why every interaction with our product makes you a little smarter. From ideation to predictive technologies, all of our products focus on giving you the right information to make decisions in one place. (Link to smart enterprise on business case page)
Be Productive: We know that people like to get things done, and we understand your daily challenges with routine work. That’s why we build smart routines, SAP processes and HR self services so deeply into our product - you might just ask for more because you’ll love it so much. (Link toHR self services)
Goodbye NewsGator, Hello Sitrion
We believe Social is going to be an integral part of work, just as processes or resources are, and we felt it was time to say good bye to our beloved name. Our vision is much larger than news aggregation. Our vision is larger than even “enterprise social”. All the great values (link to blog about SP^CE) that NewsGator stands for remain in place, but we must also admit that we outgrew “that silly name” as one of our great developers once said. We’re excited to take on the challenge of making work better, and we wanted a name that was open to everything involved in that scope.
Bringing it all together
We continue to be the by far the best Social option on SharePoint, and we continue to help you to capitalize on your SAP investment. But we’re taking it one major step forward. Sitrion is all about allowing you to bring it all together: from SAP to Microsoft, from process to social, and all in a beautiful mobile experience. Just Make Work Better.
