Annual IT Spending by Western European Utilities to Surpass $13.0 Billion by 2016, Says IDC Energy Insights

According to a new IT spending forecast report published by IDC Energy Insights, total year-end IT spending by Western European utilities is expected to be $10.5 billion in 2012, with the majority (62.1%) of IT spending being dedicated to IT services. IDC Energy Insights forecasts that by 2016, Western European utilities' IT spending will surpass $13 billion, with an estimated 2011–2016 CAGR of 5.1%.

Singapore and Hong Kong, July 24, 2012 - According to IDC's "Continuum" End-User Survey 2012* conducted by IDC's End-User Research & Statistics Department in Asia/Pacific, 25% of the respondents indicated that dealing with lower/reduced budget was their top IT priority over the next 12 months; followed by 18% stating aligning IT to changing business landscape was their top priority; and 12% stating their top priority was building better tools that help management make better business decisions.

IDC Expects Worldwide Human Capital Management Applications Market to Experience Continued Strong Growth Through 2016; Acquisitions Reflect Market Importance

A new International Data Corporation (IDC) report found that worldwide revenue for the human capital management (HCM) applications market was $7.5 billion in 2011, representing growth of 16.6% over 2010. IDC's revenue forecast for the worldwide HCM market is $11.0 billion in 2016, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 8.1%.
